Augustin Bea (May 28, 1881–November 16, 1968) was a Jesuit writer at the Pontifical Gregorian University, who was born in Germany. He has been accused of being a Crypto-Jew, on the basis that his original family name was Behar.[1] He was raised as a cardinal of the Catholic Church by Pope John XXIII.
