Bush the Fascist

TODAY, OCTOBER 17, 2006, IS THE DAY WHEN THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT LITERALLY KILLED LIBERTY IN AMERICA

PRESIDENT SIGNS "MILITARY COMMISSIONS ACT OF 2006"!

PEOPLE MAY NOW BE JAILED INDEFINITELY - WITHOUT BEING CHARGED OR PUT ON TRIAL

"The president can now — with the approval of Congress — indefinitely hold people without charge, take away protections against horrific abuse, put people on trial based on hearsay evidence, authorize trials that can sentence people to death based on testimony literally beaten out of witnesses and slam shut the courthouse door for habeas petitions. Nothing could be further from the American values we all hold in our hearts than the Military Commissions Act."

If politicians think this is good enough for we Americans, then I say we Americans should treat members of our Government the exact same way! I intend to do so.

Being jailed without charge or trial is one of the specific reasons our Founding Fathers overthrew the rule of King George III in 1776. In fact, that reason is mentioned in the Declaration of Independence! It is just as valid a reason today.

The Congress of the United States is embarked on the same road of tyranny as King George III pursued in 1776. Our forefathers overthrew King George even though he was the most powerful government on earth at the time. WE can do the same thing even though our government is the most powerful on earth today.

The single most important difference between King George III in 1776 and the U.S. Congress of today is that "Americans" couldn't get their hands on King George; he survived the American Revolution. I seriously doubt the same could be said for members of the U.S. Congress if we have to get rid of this government. Congress would do well to remember we can get our hands on them if we decide to.
