When Europeans were expanding into Africa the Belgians took the Congo. At one point it was claimed as the personal property of King Leopold II. Using the place as a rubber plantation made sense. Inflicting gross cruelties on the locals did not. Denying the truth and bribing others to do the same was easy enough until the new fangled Kodak camera came along. It cost 4/9d back in the 1930s which is about 24p in today's currency and produced undeniable evidence. Then it all started again but nobody took much notice of the current version with a few honourable exceptions. See Israel and the Ongoing Holocaust in the Congo for more and better details.
MI6 Murdered Lumumba - Allegedly
Patrice Lumumba was the prime minister of the Congo until he got sorted out in 1961. His son was different. Aforesaid son stole a bike in England. Then he was kicked to death in Catford nick.
Atrocities In The Congo - The Casement Report 1903
Sir Roger Casement visited the Congo to see how King Leopold was running it. Very badly was the answer. Brutality to the natives was major. Fraud was big time. He was in deliberate breach of his obligation to allow free trade there. His report is at SINGLE PAGE PROCESSED JP2 ZIP. Sir Roger tried to make Ireland independent and was hanged for treason in 1916. He also wrote Red Rubber.
PS The sources are showing signs of severe bit rot. Sabotage, political action? Pass.
A Tale of Two Kings
Tells us rather more about how Leopold acquired the Congo. Stanley was instrumental in dealing with the natives and helped defraud them of their land. This point is not usually covered in English school history.
Congo Free State
QUOTE
The Congo Free State was a kingdom privately and controversially owned by King Leopold II of Belgium that included the entire area now known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Leopold II began laying the diplomatic, military, and economic groundwork for his control of the Congo in 1877, and ruled it outright from early 1885 until its annexation by Belgium in 1908.Under Leopold II's administration, the Congo Free State was subject to a terror regime, including atrocities such as mass killings and maimings which were used to subjugate the indigenous tribes of the Congo region and to procure slave labour. Estimates of the death toll range from three to twenty-two million.

The Wikipedia does not approve. It could beneficially compare King Leopold's operations with those of the Jews who stole Palestine.
Israel and the Congo Holocaust
This is Holocaust II, happening now, circa 2007 in the face of world indifference. It all depends on who is managing the publicity. That means Jews. That means they get away with it.
The King versus the Kodak
Photographic evidence of atrocities in the Congo was given unusually strong emphasis by people affiliated with the Congo Reform Association. Photographs of men, women and children with their hands cut off for not collecting enough rubber or for some other often arbitrarily defined infraction were compelling evidence of misrule in the Congo. Some of the pictures are on line at The Kodak vs. the King
Red Rubber - The Story of the Rubber Slave Trade Flourishing on the Congo on the Year of Grace 1906
QUOTE
This book exposes the colonial injustice that took place in the Congo Free State (currently called the Democratic Republic of Congo) under the leadership of the Belgian King, King Leopold II. I strongly recommend this book to anybody interested in the history of Africa.
UNQUOTE
This book can be used to fuel Western Guilt rather than just Belgian guilt.
Mark Twain Calls Leopold Slayer of 15 Million
One normally thinks of Mark Twain as the author of Tom Sawyer and rather jovial but he didn't manage to see the funny side of this one. Mass murder can do that to a man.
