He is a major donor to the United Jewish
Fund and Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, a trustee of USC and USC
Hillel, serves on the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion
board of governors, and is an executive board member and former trustee of
Wilshire Boulevard Temple.

charges that he helped his company land a lucrative deal with New York's
public pension fund by giving nearly $1 million worth of illegal gifts to

of rewarding official misconduct. Prosecutors said the state invested $250
million in Markstone after Broidy showered them with gifts and favors,

Cuomo announced
Thursday that four high-level officials in the comptroller's office had
improperly accepted gifts or other lucrative benefits from Broidy. He would
name only one, the pension fund's former chief financial officer, David
Loglisci, who already faces charges in the case.

There is no accountability in the pubic sector. If public employee
funds are looted or fortunes lost in investments, taxpayers are on
the hook to make them good. In LA alone, taxpayers soon will be
paying 70 to 80 cents into the Fire and Police Pension Fund -- the
fund on which Broidy was a board member for six years -- for every
dollar of payroll for firefighters and cops............
It is the counterpart to the six degrees of separation -- the six
degrees of corruption that connect us all up to one extent or
another as both the cause and effect of our woes.

million, from the New York workers' pension fund, in sin. That is, not by merit. Broidy simply bribed four string-pullers
at the Office of the New York State Comptroller, in order to
obtain the quarter-billion dollars from the New York State
Common Retirement Fund. Following Broidy's success in
"persuading" the New York pension fund to invest, others came on
board, too.
