In Northern Ireland was once a major industrial town. The Titanic came out her ship yards, an unfortunate forerunner of later troubles. If you are a tourist looking round people are friendly. One interesting connection is Hazel Crane, a criminal Jew from Belfast married to an Israeli Mafia boss in South Africa. She was heavily involved with Winnie Mandela while her old man, Nelson MANDELA was being used by Joe Slovo, a Jew from Lithuania and other Jews in the South African Communist Party. Falls Road
The Falls Road is in West Belfast, where things happened when the IRA was making life more interesting. They also were active in Derry and the border areas. The obvious signs of their doings are the murals. It is an extension of Divis Street which also the scene of goings on.
Short Strand
Is a Catholic enclave in East Belfast on the other side of the river. Catholics came in from the country in the Nineteenth Century looking for work. One current [ August 2009 ] symptom is the glass works being excavated by archaeologists. It was once the biggest in Europe. The name refers to the area and to the road which is still there but comprehensively rebuilt. They settled there because there was a church.
