 Nigerian Liars Deported After Years Of Legal Shenanigans

A NIGERIAN WOMAN and her two daughters have been deported from Ireland, ending a marathon legal dispute that had been brought as far as the Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights.

RTÉ News reports that Pamela Izevbekhai and her two daughters Naomi and Jemima, aged 11 and 9, were arrested in Sligo at 1:30am this morning and were put on a flight from Dublin to Nigeria at about 5:30am this morning.

The deportation followed a ruling from the European Court of Human Rights last month, which upheld the Irish Supreme Court’s earlier ruling not to allow her to remain in Ireland.

Izevbekhai arrived in Ireland in 2005 claiming asylum because her daughter, Elizabeth, had died from being subject to female genital mutilation in her native Nigeria. She said her two daughters would face similar treatment.  It emerged in the course of her application, however, that documents vouching for Elizabeth’s birth were forgeries, and that Nigerian authorities could not find any record of the child ever having existed.

Her application was therefore rejected and she was sent for deportation, but Izevbekhai went into hiding. When she was arrested, she was granted a judicial review of her asylum appeal.

The Department of Justice this afternoon told TheJournal.ie it estimated that its total costs in its legal cases involving Izevbekhai would be approximately €370,000.

Chinaman Murdered An Irishman In A Dublin Internet Cafe

AN INTERNET CAFÉ manager has been jailed for six years for kicking a customer to death during a row over a 70 cent phone call. The victim’s family has criticised the sentence.

Zhen Dong Zhao (40) had pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to the manslaughter of Noel Fegan, a father of two. He kicked him to death outside the e-Times internet café and call shop on Lower Wellington Quay in Dublin city centre on 20 May, 2011.  Zhao of Jervis Street, Dublin, was originally convicted of the 39-year old’s murder and sentenced to life imprisonment in December 2012.

That conviction was overturned by the Court of Appeal earlier this year and a retrial ordered. However, the Chinese man’s plea was accepted by the State at the Central Criminal Court last month.

The court heard that Fegan, a recovering heroin addict, had gone into Zhao’s shop that afternoon after receiving a ‘call me’ text message from his 12-year-old daughter. A row broke out between the two men over the payment of 70 cent for that call. There was a conflict between eyewitnesses about who threw the first slap.

The row erupted onto the street and part of it was caught on CCTV. The physical altercation lasted less than 10 seconds, but Zhao kicked him to the head on a number of occasions during that time.

Chinese Slaves Used To Grow Cannabis In Ireland

A NEW REPORT has found that Ireland may be sending victims of slavery to prison, rather than helping to free them.

The project found evidence that vulnerable people may have been trafficked into Ireland and forced to work in cannabis growhouses – some of whom then end up in the criminal justice system.  It also found that Ireland sends more people of Asian origin to jail for cannabis growing than Irish people.

Courts and criminal authorities are not taking into account that the people may be modern-day slaves, the report [ sic - try propaganda piece - Editor ] found.

“People have been found malnourished and terrified in houses locked from the outside, yet they were still treated as criminals and given heavy prison sentences,” said Virginija Petrauskaite of the Migrant Rights Centre, which carried out the study.  There has been a major increase in the amount of cannabis grown in Ireland in recent years, with a subsequent rise in garda crack-downs on the operations. The study found that of the 50 people jailed for cannabis cultivating last year, 36 of them were of Asian origin.

Two Blacks Sexually Assaulted 15 Year Old Girl In Galway

Video footage recorded on a mobile phone by the friend of two 17- year-old youths, who gave a 15-year-old schoolgirl neat vodka before one of them had sex with her and the other sexually assaulted her, led to them being sentenced.

They were sentenced to three years in prison with the final 18 months suspended at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Galway yesterday.

HHarvey Simukonda, who is now aged 19, with an address at Brawney Square, Athlone, pleaded not guilty to rape but guilty to the defilement or statutory rape of the girl in an apartment in Galway city on August 1st 2012, moments before his trial was due to begin last July.

His co-accused, Jesse Edokpayi (19), with a former address in Galway city, but who now lives in Dublin, pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of the girl during the same incident. Sentence was adjourned to yesterday for the preparation of reports.

Black Murdered And Raped Belfast Mother Of One

A MAN who raped and murdered a Belfast mother-of-one was yesterday told he must serve at least 22 years of a life sentence before even being considered for release.  Jailing Kristoff Emmanuel Alauya (25) from Nigeria at Belfast Crown Court, Mr Justice Weir told him he could find no evidence of remorse or contrition on his part for the gruesome killing..............

Mr Justice Weir said Alauya had tried to claim asylum after arriving in Dublin and that whilst there, had married an Irish woman, become addicted to crack cocaine, fathered four children by four different women, and had attacked and robbed two taxi drivers at gunpoint on two consecutive days in May 2005.

He has pleaded guilty to those charges, but has not yet been sentenced as he fled to Belfast.

Mr Justice Weir said he considered the obvious “sexual maltreatment” of Ms Moore brought the case into a higher starting bracket and added that he found the “cold-blooded ransacking” of his victim’s home and the theft of her belongings to be an aggravating factor.
