Moral Relativism

Having a sensible view of moral relativism means understanding  Morality. Why bother in the first place, one might ask. Understanding it helps understand our problems, the pressures on our Culture, especially those imposed by our self-appointed Invisible Enemy, the Enemy Within.

The Wikipedia alleges that there are no absolute moral standards, only those of different cultures. I allege that there are; that Morals, our rules of conduct are about right behaviour, thence our long term survival and happiness; it is a question of Moral Philosophy

Those who tell us that Racism is very awful, can see it very clearly when an Englishman is accused but are determined to know nothing about it when Zionist crazies are using Ethnic Fouling in Israel. That goes double for their enthusiastic mass murders such as Gaza Massacre I, Gaza Massacre II & Gaza Massacre III. Then there was the Hebron Massacre 25 February, 1994. There are many others.

QUOTE
Moral relativism may be any of several philosophical positions concerned with the differences in moral judgments across different people and cultures. Descriptive moral relativism holds only that some people do in fact disagree about what is moral; meta-ethical moral relativism holds that in such disagreements, nobody is objectively right or wrong; and normative moral relativism holds that because nobody is right or wrong, we ought to tolerate the behavior of others even when we disagree about the morality of it.

Not all descriptive relativists adopt meta-ethical relativism, and moreover, not all meta-ethical relativists adopt normative relativism. Richard Rorty, for example, argued that relativist philosophers believe "that the grounds for choosing between such opinions is less algorithmic than had been thought", but not that any belief is equally as valid as any other.[1]

Moral relativism has been espoused, criticized, and debated for thousands of years, from ancient Greece and India to the present day, in diverse fields including philosophy, science, and religion.
