Nord Stream II ex Wiki
Nord Stream (Russian: Северный поток, Severny potok) is a system of offshore natural gas pipelines in Europe, running under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany. It includes two pipelines running from Vyborg in northwestern Russia to Lubmin near Greifswald in northeastern Germany forming the original Nord Stream (also known as Nord Stream 1;[2] former names: North Transgas and North European Gas Pipeline), and two further pipelines running from Ust-Luga in northwestern Russia to Lubmin termed Nord Stream 2. In Lubmin Nord Stream 1 is connected to the OPAL pipeline to Olbernhau in eastern Germany, on the Czech border, and to the NEL pipeline to Rehden near Bremen in northwestern Germany.

Nord Stream 1 is owned and operated by Nord Stream AG, whose majority shareholder is the Russian state company Gazprom. Nord Stream 2 is owned and planned to be operated by Nord Stream 2 AG, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom.

The first line of Nord Stream 1 was laid by May 2011 and was inaugurated on 8 November 2011.[3][4] The second line of Nord Stream 1 was laid in 2011–2012 and was inaugurated on 8 October 2012. At 1,222 km (759 mi) in length, Nord Stream 1 is the longest sub-sea pipeline in the world, surpassing the Norway-UK Langeled pipeline.[5][6]

The laying of Nord Stream 2 was carried out in 2018–2021.[7] The first line of Nord Stream 2 was completed in June 2021, and the second line was completed in September 2021.

Nord Stream 1 has a total annual capacity of 55 billion m3 (1.9 trillion cu ft) of gas, and the construction of Nord Stream 2 was expected to double this capacity to a total of 110 billion m3 (3.9 trillion cu ft).[8][9][10]

The Nord Stream projects have been fiercely opposed by the United States and Ukraine, as well as by other Central and Eastern European countries, because of concerns that the pipelines would increase Russia's influence in Europe, and because of the knock-on reduction of transit fees for use of the existing pipelines in Central and Eastern European countries. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz suspended certification of Nord Stream 2 on 22 February 2022 because Vladimir Putin led Russia to recognize the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine as independent republics, and to deploy Russian troops in these territories.[11]

The name "Nord Stream" occasionally refers to a wider pipeline network, including the feeding onshore pipeline in Russia, and further connections in Western Europe.[12]

Polish Foreign Minister Thanks America For Destroying Nord Stream  [ 27 September 2022 ]
QUOTE
While the US, Russia and most European governments have reserved judgment as to who might be behind Monday’s explosion that damaged both Nord Stream pipelines, former Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski had no such qualms

“Thank you USA,” Sikorski tweeted on Tuesday, alongside a photo of the massive gas leak in the waters of the Baltic Sea. Both pipelines were severely damaged off the coast of the Danish island of Bornholm, in what many now call a deliberate act

Sikorski later tweeted, in Polish, that damage to Nord Stream means that Russia will have to “talk to the countries controlling the Brotherhood and Yamal gas pipelines, Ukraine and Poland” if it wishes to continue delivering gas to Europe. “Good work,” he concluded

Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 lost all pressure on Monday, after what the Swedish and Danish authorities later said were a series of undersea explosions. The first pipeline was operating at reduced capacity after what Russia said were technical difficulties, while the second was fully pressurized but not operational, due to German refusal to certify it..............

Not just any MEP, Sikorski is a former UK citizen and a fellow at numerous US and NATO think-tanks, as well as Poland’s former defense (2005-2007) and foreign minister (2007-2014). In October 2014, he was caught fabricating a claim about Russian President Vladimir Putin wanting to partition Ukraine with Warsaw, and was forced to recant

Nord Stream Pipes Destroyed By Attackers   [ 28 September 2022 ]
QUOTE
The CIA warned weeks ago that the Nord Stream pipes could be attacked, it has been revealed, after explosions opened three huge fissures in two key gas links that Western leaders say are the result of sabotage.

Agents sent a 'strategic warning' to European allies including Germany over the summer that the pipes were at risk, sources told Der Spiegel last night, though they refused to say whether Russia was identified as a culprit. The warning was not specific and did not pinpoint a time or location for an attack, the New York Times added.

However, heavy suspicion for the attack has fallen on the Kremlin - with European officials briefing the Washington Post last night that 'no-one is thinking this is anything other than Russian sabotage'. But allies currently lack enough hard evidence to publicly blame Moscow, they added.

Americans Pretend They Didn't Attack Nord Stream   [ 29 September 2022 ]

The US government is denying 'preposterous' allegations that it is behind a gas leak in the Baltic Sea on Wednesday.

It comes as Donald Trump suggested that 'World War III' could be near while sharing a video of President Joe Biden threatening to stop Russia's Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Mysterious [ sic ] and alarming leaks were found in both Nord Stream pipelines this week, prompting the European Union to call it the result of a 'deliberate act.' Multiple accusations have already been lobbed at the Kremlin amid ever-growing hostilities over its illegal invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile Moscow is pointing the finger at the United States, declaring that Washington is 'obliged' to explain its alleged role in the 'sabotage.'...............

Trump also appeared to back Russia's theory on Wednesday when he posted on his Truth Social app a video of Biden from early February pledging to 'bring an end to' Nord Stream 2 if Vladimir Putin's forces invaded Ukraine. Who Attacked Germany & Nord Stream?
Who Attacked China With Covid-19?
QUOTE

Europe is facing its worst energy crisis in generations, with numerous factories shutting down and severe hardship expected during the approaching winter. Heavily-industrialized Germany has been especially hard hit, with more than half of all small- and mid-sized businesses fearful that they might be forced to close, an economic catastrophe of Great Depression proportions. The only near-term hope of salvation had been an end to the self-destructive energy sanctions these countries had imposed upon Russia, which would have allowed plentiful and cheap Russian natural gas to resume flowing through the Russian-owned Nord Stream pipelines.

Although the European governments remained firmly opposed to that solution, many ordinary Europeans felt differently, and in recent days large public demonstrations in Germany and the Czech Republic had demanded that the sanctions be lifted. There was widespread speculation that such popular protests would eventually carry the day, if not immediately then once winter hardship became too severe. The outcome would be a negotiated end to the Ukraine war along the general lines suggested by Russia, resulting in a strategic defeat for America and NATO.

Then on September 26th, this geopolitical landscape was upended as a series of large explosions severely damaged the huge Russian pipelines, putting them out of commission indefinitely, probably even permanently. With the pipelines no longer operational, Europe would have to make due with the limited supply of American gas that can be shipped by tanker, at a cost many times greater. The massive explosive attacks on the undersea pipelines—rather euphemistically characterized as “sabotage” in the media headlines—had occurred near the coastal waters of Denmark and Sweden, in an area of the Baltic heavily monitored and patrolled by NATO warships...............

Consider the obvious possibility of retaliation. Russia possesses a very powerful and sophisticated military with excellent special forces, and the West’s own energy infrastructure is woefully vulnerable and unprotected. Moreover, our heavily financialized economy might collapse like a house of cards if it were struck a tiny blow in the right location, with Tucker Carlson noting that if Russia merely cut the transatlantic fiber-optic cables connecting financial markets in the US and Europe, Wall Street would suffer gigantic losses.

But I think the greatest risk our country faces is an automatic consequence of our attacks on Europe’s critical energy infrastructure even absent any significant Russian reprisals.

If Germany and the rest of Europe undergo an economic collapse, the American economy can hardly avoid severe damage as well, but I think the more important impact will be upon the longer-term geopolitical alignment of that continent. Europeans will suffer greatly this winter and despite the solid wall of media propaganda, more and more of them may begin to recognize the architect of their distress.

For nearly three generations, our NATO allies have constituted a crucial element of America’s global military and economic power, and if they see their repayment as being a treacherous, criminal attack with devastating consequences, they may eventually decide to shift their allegiance in a different direction. The hashtag #Kriegserklaerung---“declaration of war”—was recently trending for several days on Twitter, with numerous Germans saying that America had declared war against their country. Overwhelming control over electronic and social media represents a powerful brain-washing tool, but at some point its effectiveness may be overwhelmed by miserable reality. The old Soviet Union never inflicted such deliberate suffering upon its Warsaw Pact vassals and that alliance collapsed in 1989, so if some of the more dismal economic predictions for Europe are realized, I wonder if NATO will long survive.

From a broader perspective, industrialized Germany and resource-rich Russia are natural trading partners, and as Mike Whitney so presciently argued back in February, much of America’s recent European strategy has been aimed at blocking their growing economic ties. Our destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines may have temporarily prevented any immediate German defection, but the bitterness we will have earned may be even more significant in the future. If Germany shifted its political ties eastward, America’s power in Europe would be shattered, and German voters do have a say in such matters, especially if they begin to suffer Depression-like conditions in the next few months............

Once individuals have fully absorbed the broader implications of the Nord Stream attacks, including the widespread but ridiculous media claims that the Russians destroyed their own pipelines, they should reassess their assumptions regarding American governmental behavior and also reexamine the circumstances of the Covid outbreak with a fresh eye.

Nord Stream Attackers Failed - One Pipe Is Still Functional    [ 6 October 2022 ]
QUOTE
Gazprom PJSC told European gas customers that part of the damaged Nord Stream network could still transport fuel -- but only on the new pipeline that Germany ditched in February in protest at Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine.

The Nord Stream 2 pipeline was set to go into operation earlier this year when Germany pulled the plug on the project just before Russia’s invasion. The pipeline, which was set to double the capacity of Nord Stream, had been sanctioned by the U.S. and faced strong opposition in parts of Europe, forcing [ sic ] Germany to eventually give up on the project.

After the suspected sabotage of the network last week in a series of explosions, Gazprom said on Monday three of the lines were affected and one wasn’t. The gas giant has lowered pressure on the unaffected line B of Nord Stream 2 to inspect the link for damage and potential leaks, it said in a statement on its Telegram account...........

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said last week the pipelines had been attacked by ‘Anglo-Saxons’, while several leaders in the European Union said they consider the attacks a sabotage. Europe has also bolstered security at key energy assets, fearing further attacks.

Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 each have a shipment capacity of 55 billion cubic meters per year, which means line B could deliver as much as 27.5 billion cubic meters per year to Germany across the Baltic Sea.

This is fairly good news. The attackers, American or Polish sub-contractors blew one pipe twice, not once each. So the German government can buy Russian gas via  Nord Stream II if it wants. It prefers to obey American orders, to Sanction Russia. Letting its own people die of cold is irrelevant/unimportant/ a non-issue. Of course when real people start suffering, when the electricity goes off, when they start complaining loud enough it might change. Is the real government of Germany in Berlin or Washington?
PS The gas can still get through the Ukraine if the Ukies don't steal it.

Russian Oil Pipeline To Germany Springs A Leak  [ 20 October 2022 ]
QUOTE
WARSAW, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Germany said on Wednesday it was receiving less oil but still had adequate supplies, after Poland found a leak in the Druzhba pipeline that delivers crude from Russia to Europe that Warsaw said showed no sign of being caused by sabotage.

The discovery of the leak in the main route carrying oil to Germany, which operator PERN said it found on Tuesday evening, comes as Europe is on high alert over its energy security in the aftermath of Moscow's invasion of Ukraine which has cut supplies of gas.

"After removing most of the contaminants from the area near the crude oil pipeline that was damaged yesterday, PERN's technical services have located the site of the leak," Polish pipeline operator PERN said in a statement.

"The first findings and the method of pipeline deformation show that at the moment there are no signs of interference by third parties."

PERN added that it was working to find out what caused the leak and to repair the pipeline.

Can Europe Afford To Turn- A Blind Eye To Evidence Of US Role In Pipeline Blasts?  [ 26 November 2022 ]
QUOTE
If Washington was involved, it would mark a dangerous new stage not only in the Ukraine war but in Europe’s acceptance of vassal status

The sabotage of the two Nord Stream pipelines leaves Europeans certain to be much poorer and colder this winter, and was an act of international vandalism on an almost unimaginable scale. The attacks severed Russian gas supplies to Europe and caused the release of enormous quantities of methane gas, the prime offender in global warming.

This is why no one is going to take responsibility for the crime – and most likely no one will ever be found definitively culpable. Nonetheless, the level of difficulty and sophistication in setting off blasts at three separate locations on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines overwhelmingly suggests a state actor, or actors, was behind it. Western coverage of the attacks has been decidedly muted, given that this hostile assault on the globe’s energy infrastructure is unprecedented – overshadowing even the 9/11 attacks.

The reason why there appears to be so little enthusiasm to explore this catastrophic event in detail – beyond pointing a finger in Russia’s direction – is not difficult to deduce.

It is hard to think of a single reason why Moscow would wish to destroy its own energy pipelines, valued at $20 billion, or allow in seawater, possibly corroding them irreversibly.

The attacks deprive Russia of its main gas supply lines to Europe – and with it, vital future revenues – while leaving the field open to competitors.................

Media taboo
This week, distinguished economist Jeffrey Sachs was invited on Bloomberg TV to talk about the pipeline attacks. He broke a taboo among Western elites by citing evidence suggesting that the US, rather than Russia, was the prime suspect.

Western media like the Associated Press have tried to foreclose such a line of thinking by calling it a “baseless conspiracy theory” and Russian “disinformation”. But, as Sachs pointed out, there are good reasons to suspect the US above Russia.

There is, for example, the threat to Russia made by US president Joe Biden back in early February, that “there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2” were Ukraine to be invaded. Questioned by a reporter about how that would be possible, Biden asserted: “I promise you, we will be able to do that.”

Biden was not speaking out of turn or off the cuff. At the same time, Victoria Nuland, a senior diplomat in the Biden administration, issued Russia much the same warning, telling reporters: “If Russia invades Ukraine, one way or another, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward.”................

Demand for fealty
If the US was behind the attacks, it suggests not only that Washington is taking the Ukraine war into new, more dangerous territory, ready to risk drawing Moscow into a round of tit-for-tats that could quickly escalate into a nuclear confrontation. It also suggests that ties between the US and Europe have entered a decisive new stage, too.

Or put another way, Washington would have done more than move out of the shadows, turning its proxy war in Ukraine into a more direct, hot war with Russia. It would indicate that the US is willing to turn the whole of Europe into a battlefield, and bully, betray and potentially sacrifice the continent’s population as cruelly as it has traditionally treated weak allies in the Global South............

By contrast, this act of sabotage strangles Europe economically, driving it into recession, deepening its debt and making it a slave to US energy supplies. Effectively, the Biden administration would have moved from offering European elites juicy carrots to now wielding a very large stick at them..............

The conclusion European leaders would be left to draw is that the only justification for such pitiless aggression is that the US is maneuvering to avoid the collapse of its post-war global dominance, the end of its military and economic empire.

The destruction of the pipelines would have to be understood as an act of desperation: a last-ditch preemption by Washington of the loss of its hegemony as Russia, China and others find common cause to challenge the American behemoth, and a ferocious blow against Europe to hammer home the message that it must not stray from the fold............

Europeans have been persuaded that they must give unflinching moral and military support to Ukraine because it is the last rampart defending their homeland from a merciless Russian imperialism.

Russia Says Royal Navy Blew Up Nord Stream Gas Pipelines  [ 29 October 2022 ]

LONDON, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Russia's defence ministry said on Saturday that British navy personnel blew up the Nord Stream gas pipelines last month, a claim that London said was false and designed to distract from Russian military failures in Ukraine.

Russia did not give evidence for its claim that a leading NATO member had sabotaged critical Russian infrastructure amid the worst crisis in relations between the West and Russia since the depths of the Cold War.

The Russian ministry said that "British specialists" from the same unit directed Ukrainian drone attacks on ships of Russian Black Sea fleet in Crimea earlier on Saturday that it said were largely repelled by Russian forces, with minor damage to a Russian minesweeper.................

Russia said meanwhile that Ukrainian forces attacked ships from the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, the biggest city in Russian-annexed Crimea, in the early hours of Saturday.

"Nine unmanned aerial vehicles and seven autonomous marine drones were involved in the attack," the defence ministry said...................

All the air drones were destroyed though minor damage was done to the minesweeper Ivan Golubets, the ministry said. Sevastopol is the headquarters of Russia's Black Sea Fleet.

Omerta In The Gangster War

Gangster war is what you wage when you already are the boss and won’t let any outsider muscle in on your territory. For the dons in Washington, the territory can be just about everywhere, but its core is occupied Europe

By an uncanny coincidence, Joe Biden just happens to look like a mafia boss, to talk like a mafia boss, to wear a little lopsided half smile like a mafia boss. Just watch the now famous video:

Pres. Biden: “If Russia invades…then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.”

Reporter: “But how will you do that, exactly, since…the project is in Germany’s control?”

Biden: “I promise you, we will be able to do that.”

Able for sure

It cost billions of dollars to lay the Nord Stream 2 pipeline across the Baltic Sea, from near Saint Petersburg to the port of Greifsfeld in Germany. The idea was to ensure safe natural gas supplies to Germany and other European partners by going around troublesome Ukraine, known for readiness to use its transit rights to siphon off gas for itself or blackmail clients

Nord Stream 2 area map. (Berria Egunkaria, CC BY-SA 4.0, Wikimedia Commons)

Of course, Ukraine was always vehemently hostile to the project. So was the United States. And so were Poland, the three Baltic States, Finland and Sweden, all attentive to what went on in their sea

The Baltic Sea is a nearly closed body of water, with narrow access to the Atlantic through Danish and Swedish straits. The waters near the Danish island of Bornholm where the Nord Stream pipelines were sabotaged by massive underwater explosions is under constant military surveillance by these neighbors

“It seems completely impossible that a state actor could carry out a major naval operation in the middle of this densely monitored area without being noticed by the countless active and passive sensors of the littoral states; certainly not directly off the island of Bornholm, where Danes, Swedes and Germans have a rendezvous in monitoring the surface and undersea activities,” writes Jens Berger in the excellent German website Nachdenkseiten.

Last June, Berger reports,

“the annual NATO maneuver Baltops took place in the Baltic Sea. Under the command of the U.S. 6th Fleet, 47 warships participated in the exercise this year, including the U.S. fleet force around the helicopter carrier USS Kearsarge. Of particular significance is one particular maneuver conducted by the 6th Fleet’s Task Force 68 — a special unit for explosive ordnance disposal and underwater operations of the U.S. Marines, the very unit that would be the first address for an act of sabotage on an undersea pipeline.”

In June this year this very unit was engaged in a maneuver off the island of Bornholm, operating with unmanned underwater vehicles

Berger considers that a major sabotage operation “could not have been carried out directly under the noses of several littoral states without anyone noticing.” But he adds this clever observation: “if you want to hide something, it is best to do so in public.”

In order to be able to attach explosive devices to a gas pipeline halfway unnoticed, one would need a plausible distraction — a reason for diving near Bornholm without immediately being suspected of committing an act of sabotage. It doesn’t even have to be directly related in time to the attacks. Modern explosive devices can, of course, be detonated remotely. So, who has been conducting such operations in the maritime area in recent weeks? As luck would have it, exactly the same task force around the USS Kearsarge was again in the sea area around Bornholm last week

In short, during NATO maneuvers, some participant could have laid the explosives, to be blown up at a later chosen moment

By an odd coincidence, only a few hours after the sabotage of Nord Stream 1 and 2, ceremonies began opening the new Baltic Pipe carrying gas from Norway to Denmark and Poland

The Political Significance of the Sabotage

A Royal Marine commando briefs Royal Marines, U.S. Marines, Royal Navy personnel and Singaporean observers in the vehicle deck of HMS Ocean (U.K.) during BALTOPS 2016. (NATO)

Due to Western sanctions against Russia, gas was not being delivered through the destroyed pipelines. However, gas inside the pipelines is leaking dangerously. The pipelines remained ready for use whenever an agreement could be reached. And the first, dramatic significance of the sabotage is that henceforth, no agreement can be reached. Nord Stream 2 would have been the key to some sort of settlement between Russia and the Europeans. The sabotage has virtually announced that the war can only intensify with no end in sight

In Germany, the Czech Republic and some other countries, movements were beginning to grow calling for an end to the sanctions, specifically to solve the energy crisis by putting Nord Stream 2 into operation for the first time. The sabotage has thus invalidated the leading demand of potential peace movements in Germany and Europe

This act of sabotage is above all a deliberate sabotage of any prospect of a negotiated peace in Europe. The next move from the West has been for NATO governments to call on all their citizens to leave Russia immediately. In preparation of what?

The Russians Did It
In this catastrophic situation, Western mainstream media are all wondering who could be the guilty party, and suspicion automatically fixes on… Russia. Motive? “To raise the price of gas” or “to destabilize Europe” — things that were happening anyway. Any far-fetched notion will do

European opinion-makers are showing the result of 70 years of Americanization. Especially in Germany, but also in France and elsewhere, for decades the United States has systematically spotted up-and-coming young people, invited them to become “young leaders,” invited them to the United States, indoctrinated them in “our values” and made them feel like members of the great trans-Atlantic family. They are networked into top positions in politics and media. In recent years, great alarm is raised about alleged Russian efforts to exert “influence” in European countries, while Europeans bathe in perpetual American influence: movies, Netflix, pop culture, influence in universities, media, everywhere

When disaster strikes Europe, it can’t be blamed on America (except for former President Donald Trump, because the American establishment despised and rejected him, so Europeans must do the same). It has to be the bad guy in the movie, Putin

The fanatically anti-Russian former Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorsky couldn’t restrain himself and joyously greeted the massive natural-gas leaks from the destroyed pipeline with a cheerful tweet, “Thank you, USA.” But Poland was certainly also willing, and perhaps even able. So perhaps were some others in NATO-land. But they all prefer to publicly “suspect” Russia

Officially, so far, no NATO government knows who dunnit. Or maybe they all know. Maybe this is like the famous Agatha Christie mystery on the Orient Express train, where suspicion falls on all the passengers, and are all guilty. And all united in  Omerta

Jake Sullivan Set Up The Destruction Of Nord Stream  [ 11 February 2023 ]

In December 2021, Jake Sullivan [ a Jew ], acting with Joe Biden's blessing, convened men and women from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the CIA, and the State and Treasury Departments to come up with a plan on how to destruct [ sic ] Nord Stream 1 and 2 designed to pump Russian natural gas to Europe, according to Seymour Hersh's  recent bombshell.

In early 2022, the CIA told Sullivan that they knew how to blow up the pipelines. The group decided to keep the risky plot on a hush. The US Congress wasn't informed. The US military and intelligence operatives did their best to conceal Washington's role in the sabotage. As per the investigative journalist, the team had concerns about the legality of the plot and was well aware that it could quickly morph into a foreign policy nightmare.

After the pipelines had been destroyed, Secretary of State Antony Blinken [ a Jew ] and, later, Undersecretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland [ a Jew ] openly praised the development..............

For his part, Jake Sullivan stated laconically on September 27, 2022, that the US was supporting efforts to investigate the 'apparent sabotage' and 'will continue [it's] work to safeguard Europe's energy security [ by robbing it blind - Editor ].

Hersh's reporting on the Nord Stream bombing is completely convincing and I know for a fact that he has reliable sources, mostly in the intelligence community, but I would rather regard Sullivan as the implementer of the attack on the pipeline by virtue of his position rather than the driving force behind it, Philip Giraldi, former CIA station chief, now an executive director of the Council for the National Interest, told Sputnik. 'To be sure, Joe Biden would have had to promote and endorse the project.'

American Pirates Steal Oil From 4 Tankers Bound For Venezuela
QUOTE
The U.S. has seized Iranian petroleum bound for Venezuela aboard four tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, enforcing a forfeiture order aimed at both Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Caracas government, the Justice Department announced Friday.

Roughly 1.116 million barrels of fuel was confiscated from the foreign-flagged vessels M/T Bella, M/T Bering, M/T Pandi and M/T Luna, a Justice Department statement said, adding that the seizure took place "with the assistance of foreign partners."

The cargo was intercepted on Wednesday, under a warrant issued by a U.S. District Court over a July 2 complaint seeking the forfeiture of all petroleum products aboard the vessels. The property is now in U.S. custody, the Justice Department said.

Even if the pirates didn't use force the threat was there, it was real. Forget not that Biden threatened to block Nord Stream. He did. Crime? Yes. Major crime but then America is above the law.

UN Security Council Discuss American Attack On Nord Stream    [ 28 February 2023 ]
QUOTE
A few days ago, the UN Security Council held hearings on the accusations by Seymour Hersh that the Biden Administration had illegally destroyed Europe’s $30 billion Nord Stream pipelines. Hersh is one of America’s most renowned journalists and the previous week he had revealed the exact details of the attack, an obvious act of war against Germany, our close NATO ally........

The story is arguably as big as anything in Hersh’s towering half-century career, but with very few exceptions his revelations and the UN session it prompted have been totally ignored by our entire mainstream media, so that only a sliver of the Western public may ever hear of those facts and recognize their importance.

Yes, Seymour Hersh is an eminent reporter. The fact that governments claim that he is wrong proves they are corrupt liars, just like the media. Yes, the American government is a gang of war criminals.

Six Russian Warships Were Near Nord Stream Pipeline Attack Five Days Before - Allegedly    [ 28 March 2023 ]

Six Russian naval vessels 'were detected near site of Nord Stream pipeline five days before it was sabotaged'

A convoy of six Russian naval vessels were spotted near to the Nord Stream pipeline just five days before sabotage occurred, it was reported on Sunday.

Three of the four pipelines carrying Russian gas to Germany were seriously damaged by explosions near to the Danish island of Bornhom on September 26 last year, disrupting global supply..............

But it has now been claimed that a Swedish warship may have spotted the Russian convoy and tracked it, possibly being aware of it for as long as three days, The Times reports.

The Americans have come up with another pack of lies, more Fake News, pretending it wasn't them. The Mail's readers aren't stupid enough to believe it.

Nord Stream And Germanys Shrinking Economy  [ 22 December 2023 ]
QUOTE
The German economy has been deprived for more than a year of cheap Russian gas, thanks in part to Joe Biden and his decision early last year to destroy the Nord Stream pipelines. Meanwhile, German politics is continuing its tumble to the right. It may bring much of Western Europe with it.

Last week Alternative for Germany (AfD), a rigid anti-immigrant party in a nation where immigrants make up 18 percent of the total population, backed its first successful mayoral candidate since it was formed a decade ago. The New York Times described the victory in Pirna, a small town in Saxony, as a reflection of the party’s surging popularity. It is backed by 35 percent of voters in Saxony and 22 percent nationwide—a figure that has doubled in the past two years.

Germany once dominated the world’s markets with its luxury cars and industrial machinery but is now in a process of what some have called rapid deindustrialization. Three months ago, the television network Euronews called Germany “the world’s worst performing major developed country, with both the International Monetary Fund and European Union expecting it to shrink this year.” The political gains of AfD, I was told by Max Paul Friedman, an American academic who knows Germany well, “make many Germans very scared” because the economic gloom causes other political parties in Germany and throughout Europe, as well as in the US, to take up anti-immigrant policies.

“If the pipelines were flowing, would this all be different?” asked Friedman, a professor of history and international relations at American University. “Yes and no. Energy prices are central, but they would still have the sclerotic bureaucracy, the Chinese market decline, the lack of skilled labor. And given what is happening all over the North Atlantic countries, they would still be in an Islamophobic, anti-immigrant mood like their neighbors anyway.”

Given those realities, Friedman told me, he would depict “the pipeline issue as a catalyst or maybe the straw that broke the camel’s back, rather than the sole critical factor contributing to Germany’s woes.”

Sarah Miller, who has spent four decades writing for and editing the best of America’s oil and gas magazines—she now blogs on Medium—has depicted these days as “desperate times, especially for German and some European companies facing inflated energy bills and ongoing and possible entrenched inflation at home.” Germany is at risk, she told me this week in an email, “of losing a big part of the industrial base that has been key to its continued industrial strength and political clout within the EU over the last few decades. This industrial base is also emotionally important to the Germans—that goes especially for cars and chemicals—making it a huge political issue.”

Miller said that Germany’s gas supply crunch is “stabilizing, with some ten-year or longer deals to purchase liquified natural gas, mainly from the US and Qatar and, most recently, pipeline gas from Norway. But the amount of gas Germany is using is down sharply from pre-war levels, with energy intensive-industries taking the biggest hit. Germany’s legendary industries have been weakened. Fear that they won’t recover is widespread, as is concern that to the extent that the companies involved do bounce back, it will be with heavier reliance on China. These industries are important to the country’s sense of security and self-confidence, and the political consequences could be severe” for Chancellor Oaf Scholz’s coalition government.

“It’s interesting,” Miller said, “that what everybody fears most—from Germany to China and lots of places in between—is a repeat of the deindustrialization, financialization, and economic hollowing out that the US experienced over the last decades. America is a cautionary tale. It’s pretty pathetic when you think about it that way.”

America has been the most controversial factor in Germany’s recent hard times, so controversial that its role is rarely mentioned. Biden’s decision in the fall of 2022 to order a CIA-led team working undercover in Norway, with the best of Norway’s special forces, who have been an American asset since the end of the Second World War—to blow up the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea. Nord Stream 1 had been supplying Germany with cheap Russian gas since 2011. The newly constructed Nord Stream 2 was in the final stages of completion when it was shut down, under American pressure, by Chancellor Scholz in February 2022, just before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

American and Western national leaders have warned since the early days of the Cold War about Russia’s ability to politically weaponize its vast stores of national gas and oil located in western Siberia near the Arctic Circle. One energy expert, over a recent early morning coffee in New York, called the world’s nations with no oil or gas reserves “zombies” who have a desperate daily need to find blood to drink to sustain life.

The Americans assigned to the covert mission in the Baltic Sea in the weeks before the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 assumed that the goal was to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin not to invade. When the invasion took place, despite earlier public threats to destroy the pipeline by Biden and Victoria Nuland, now acting deputy secretary of state, the American team in Norway was ordered to continue its work and find a way to get the job done.

The operatives had prepared for the mission and were ready to go by late May, but the plan was called off on short notice by Biden. There was no explanation because presidents, whether or not they are deeply involved in mission planning or, as in the case in hand, know very little about the planning, have no need to explain their thinking. The CIA team remained deeply involved and enthusiastic because they assumed that Biden would eventually pull the trigger and then tell Putin that he authorized the destruction and why he did so—because he had publicly told Putin what he was going to do and he did it. The message the men and women on the mission wanted to hear was: “Don’t mess with me.” The Russian leader needed to know that when an American president makes a threat he means it.

The White House did, however, order that the CIA find a way to give the White House the option to blow up the pipeline at a time of Biden’s choosing. The bombs were already in place. Arranging that option, with the necessary assurance or success, was much more difficult than the president and his advisers would ever know. It was made possible with the help of outside academic technical experts. The presidential order came in late September and three of the four pipelines were destroyed after the explosives were triggered by a specially assembled low frequency sonar device. (No bombs were laid at the fourth pipeline because the two Navy divers who had practiced for months were under a strict timeline and were returned to safety before they could finish their mission.)

Biden’s timing seemed aimed at Chancellor Scholz. Some in the CIA believed that the president’s fear was that Scholz, whose constituents were lukewarm in their support for Ukraine, might waffle with winter coming on and conclude that keeping his people warm and his industries prosperous was more important than backing Ukraine against Russia. He might decide to let the gas flow. Once again, as US presidents since Kennedy have feared, Russian gas would be a strategic asset.

This week news broke, as Miller noted, that Sefe, a German state-owned energy firm, struck a $55 billion energy deal with Norway’s Equinor that, according to Reuters, will supply Germany with one-third of its industrial gas needs for ten years, with an option for a five-year extension. Reuters went to great lengths to rewrite history and informed its readers that the deal was, for Germany, “a milestone in Berlin’s efforts to replace former long-term supplier Russia, which first cut and later suspended delivery in 2022, stoking fears of cold German homes.” The destroyed Nord Stream pipelines were no longer relevant.

In the ten months since I published my first account of the Nord Stream sabotage the German government and media, as in the United States, have either ignored or provided alternate accounts of the how and why the pipelines were destroyed. The idea that a sitting US president would deliberately destroy a vital source of energy and of a close ally has been, as Freud would say, taboo.

One American official, who is knowledgeable about the political use of energy, called the Norwegian deal, with some sarcasm, “an amazing stroke of good luck for Scholz, just when his base was facing another gas-free winter. Out of the blue the Norwegians found a customer for almost exactly the same percentage of gas lost from Nord Stream closures.

“Magically,” he added, “the deal coincides with Russia’s earlier closure of gas and oil fields that—except for the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines—would have been the source of gas for the two pipelines.” Putin responded to the earlier Scholz decision to refuse delivery of the Russian gas on Nord Stream 2 by announcing he would end the supply.

So, the official said, Scholz may have understood that the Russian gas for Nord Stream 2 would not be available when “he and Biden stood shoulder to shoulder” in the White House on February 7, 2022, a few weeks before Russia invaded Ukraine, and Biden announced that if Russia invaded Ukraine there would be no Nord Stream 2.

“As for the Norwegians,” the official told me, “the best way to expand market share has always been to eliminate the competition.

“Ain’t history grand?” he concluded.

Seymour Hersh tells us that the Norwegians are taking over where the Russsians left off. What good luck. It means that Scholz wa able to shrug Biden's War Crime off.
