Psychology

It is easy to feel that Social Science is more or less a contradiction in terms. Freud demonstrated it. Stapel confirmed it. The Wiki takes it rather more seriously.  Psychology includes Behavioural sciences, which can, in principle be honest. The Nature Versus Nurture debate is part of it. There is a good argument that we are born with our political prejudices built in, ready to go. See Right Or Left for more and better details.

Other areas are rather more solidly based. They include:-
        Torture
        Psychopath
        PTSD
        Political Correctness
        Brainwashing
        Resistance to Interrogation
        Propaganda

These are all aspects of mind control or its results, in contrast with Free Speech. Indeed their existence is a real argument for freedom; they are tools of the Enemy Within. Then there are the straightforward ideas of Fear and Courage.

Mark Steyn in his piece, The Vertigo At The Top Of The Stick mentions Gestalt Psychology as well as the The Law of Group Polarization. He does not mention #Thought Collective ex Wiki, an aspect of #Mob Psychology ex Wiki, in spite of the Wiki's benign remarks.

Psychology ex Wiki
Psychology
is the science of behavior and mind, including conscious and unconscious phenomena, as well as feeling and thought. It is an academic discipline of immense scope and diverse interests that, when taken together, seek an understanding of the emergent properties of brains, and all the variety of epiphenomena they manifest. As a social science it aims to understand individuals and groups by establishing general principles and researching specific cases.[1][2]

Brainwashing
Was used by the Chinese in Korea. It is mind control by systematic bullying of PoWs, prisoners of war. It worked sometimes.

Cognitive Elite
The Cognitive elite is a group who are the most intelligent. It is fashionable to claim that intelligence cannot be measured. This is because Psychologists started testing for it in the late Nineteenth Century then found that they did not like the results. This refusal to face facts is important in public policy because it means refusing to accept that Blacks are less intelligent than White Men. It is part of the propaganda marketing Western Guilt, which is used as an excuse for flooding England and Western Civilization with millions of Third World parasites. The Bell Curve refutes the lies about IQ, which is why the authors were seriously abused by the corrupt, by chancers. It is an aspect of mob psychology.

DARPA Analyses Sniping
DARPA
, the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency does good work, including the invention of the Internet. Looking at how Snipers work means looking at how they think. Lessons cover other fields.

Dunning–Kruger Effect ex Wiki
In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people with low ability at a task overestimate their ability. It is related to the cognitive bias of illusory superiority and comes from the inability of people to recognize their lack of ability. Without the self-awareness of metacognition, people cannot objectively evaluate their competence or incompetence.[1]

As described by social psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger, the bias results from an internal illusion in people of low ability and from an external misperception in people of high ability; that is, "the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others."[1]

It is explained better by TORI DeANGELIS in Why We Overestimate Our Competence.

False Memory Syndrome
People in the psychology racket invented this one, made their money then people realised that it was a Boondoggle. A sensible view is put by  the Wikipedia at Reconstructive Memory.

Jews Breed For Intelligence
Thus saith Gilad Atzmon. Is he right? It seems entirely likely. He knows his own, which incidentally is why he left them to get on with it. He prefers England. Here he explains the Cognitive Elite. The idea is that rich Jews have been marrying their daughters to clever Jews for 1500 years. It works. That is why they are richer, more powerful et cetera.

Memes
Are ideas released into the wild that keep popping up even if they are wrong.

Political Correctness
Uses social pressures & criminal law to obstruct or outlaw Free Speech. It is bad law made by bad men for bad reasons; a weapon used against Englishmen or White Men but not Blacks. It is an attack on Western Civilization.

Propaganda
Operates through the Main Stream Media and the Education industry. It used to tell people what The Establishment or Subversives want them to believe. The aim is to do it with being noticed, for the Party Line to be accepted as fact.

Psychiatry Is A Boondoggle
See the Rosenhan Experiment for more and better evidence on this one.

Psychological Expert Opinion Is Unreliable
If you are in court facing testimony from alleged Experts it is time to switch on, get your act together & tell the Jury, the Twelve Good Men and True to ignore fairy stories and pretentious waffle.

Psychopath
Is a psychological term for the devious, the liar, the unrepentant rogue. One example is Benjamin Netanyahu; he lies for a pastime.

PTSD
Post traumatic stress syndrome has been called shell shock. It is marketed by Marxists and their Useful Idiots.

Resistance to Interrogation
Is about keeping quiet when it matters; about not talking to take the pressure off. It is about protecting yourself from going to prison.

Satoshi Kanazawa
Is an honest psychologist. Being honest means that he comes in for major abuse. He is employed by the LSE, a Marxist propaganda machine. They harass him but bottled out of sacking him.
PS The Wikipedia write up is hostile too.

Social Science ex Wiki
Social science is a major category of academic disciplines, concerned with society and the relationships among individuals within a society. It in turn has many branches, each of which is considered a "social science". The main social sciences include economics, political science, human geography, demography, psychology, and sociology. In a wider sense, social science also includes some fields in the humanities[1] such as anthropology, archaeology, jurisprudence, history, and linguistics. The term is also sometimes used to refer specifically to the field of sociology, the original 'science of society', established in the 19th century.

Positivist social scientists use methods resembling those of the natural sciences as tools for understanding society, and so define science in its stricter modern sense. Interpretivist social scientists, by contrast, may use social critique or symbolic interpretation rather than constructing empirically falsifiable theories, and thus treat science in its broader sense. In modern academic practice, researchers are often eclectic, using multiple methodologies (for instance, by combining the quantitative and qualitative researches). The term social research has also acquired a degree of autonomy as practitioners from various disciplines share in its aims and methods.

Stockholm Syndrome & White Genocide
This is applied psychology in action.

Thinking Fast And Slow
Sometimes psychologists come up with something worthwhile. These did. These are Jews. The article does not make the connection with Bruce Schneier, also a Jew whose work on computer security has gone toward people's behaviour, in other words toward applied psychology.

Torture
Inflicting pain to make people talk is an obvious approach to getting information. It is also unreliable and known to be so.

Freud
Was big in psychology and thought to be 90% charlatan. I would be surprised if he were anything else.

Diederik Stapel ex Wiki
QUOTE
Diederik Alexander Stapel (born in Oegstgeest, 19 October 1966) is a former professor of social psychology at Tilburg University and before that at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.[1] In 2011 Tilburg University fired him, because he had used fabricated data and manipulated data for his research publications. This scientific misconduct lasted for years and affected at least 30 publications..........

Scientific misconduct
In September 2011 Tilburg University suspended him from his duties, because he was suspected of using faked data for his research publications. The university announced an investigation of his work.

On October 31, 2011, the committee headed by Willem ("Pim") Levelt, entrusted with investigating the fraud published an interim report regarding Stapel's activities at the three Dutch universities where he worked (University of Amsterdam, Tilburg and Groningen). The report concluded that Stapel made up data for at least 30 publications.[5]His general method towards the end of his career was to develop a complete experiment at the level of theory, hypotheses, methods, stimuli, questionnaires, and even participants' rewards to then pretend that he would run the experiments at schools only he had access to.

Extremist Racists Are Lunatics Claim American Psychiatrists
QUOTE
The American Psychiatric Association has never officially recognized extreme racism (as opposed to ordinary prejudice) as a mental health problem, although the issue was raised more than 30 years ago. After several racist killings in the civil rights era, a group of black psychiatrists sought to have extreme bigotry classified as a mental disorder..............

The psychiatric profession's primary index for diagnosing psychiatric symptoms, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), does not include racism, prejudice, or bigotry in its text or index. Therefore, there is currently no support for including extreme racism under any diagnostic category. This leads psychiatrists to think that it cannot and should not be treated in their patients.......

Extreme racists' violence should be considered in the context of behavior described by Allport in The Nature of Prejudice.2 Allport's 5-point scale categorizes increasingly dangerous acts. It begins with verbal expression of antagonism, progresses to avoidance of members of disliked groups, then to active discrimination against them, to physical attack, and finally to extermination (lynchings, massacres, genocide). That fifth point on the scale, the acting out of extermination fantasies, is readily classifiable as delusional behavior.......

It is time for the American Psychiatric Association to designate extreme racism as a mental health problem by recognizing it as a delusional psychotic symptom.
UNQUOTE
It was not madness then but it is now. That is part of their claim. Believe them if you want but first remember that Psychiatry Is A Boondoggle. The Rosenhan Experiment proved that. Of course there is no mention of real racism, the Genocide perpetrated by Jews in Palestine.

'The Law of Group Polarization' by Cass R. Sunstein
QUOTE
Abstract
In a striking empirical regularity, deliberation tends to move groups, and the individuals who compose them, toward a more extreme point in the direction indicated by their own predeliberation judgments. For example, people who are opposed to the minimum wage are likely, after talking to each other, to be still more opposed; people who tend to support gun control are likely, after discussion, to support gun control with considerable enthusiasm; people who believe that global warming is a serious problem are likely, after discussion, to insist on severe measures to prevent global warming. This general phenomenon -- group polarization -- has many implications for economic, political, and legal institutions. It helps to explain extremism, "radicalization," cultural shifts, and the behavior of political parties and religious organizations; it is closely connected to current concerns about the consequences of the Internet; it also helps account for feuds, ethnic antagonism, and tribalism. Group polarization bears on the conduct of government institutions, including juries, legislatures, courts, and regulatory commissions. There are interesting relationships between group polarization and social cascades, both informational and reputational. Normative implications are discussed, with special attention to political and legal institutions.

Cass Sunstein ex Wiki
QUOTE
Cass Robert Sunstein[1] FBA (born September 21, 1954) is an American legal scholar, particularly in the fields of constitutional law, administrative law, environmental law, and law and behavioral economics, who was the Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2012.[2] For 27 years, Sunstein taught at the University of Chicago Law School.[3] Sunstein is the Robert Walmsley University Professor[4] at Harvard Law School. He is Honorary Doctor at Copenhagen Business School.[5]

Studies of legal publications between 2009 and 2013 found Sunstein to be the most frequently cited American legal scholar by a wide margin, followed by Erwin Chemerinsky and Richard A. Epstein.[6][7]

Gestalt Psychology ex Wiki
Gestalt psychology or gestaltism (/ɡəˈʃtɑːlt, -ˈʃtɔːlt, -ˈstɑːlt, -ˈstɔːlt/;[1] from German: Gestalt [ɡəˈʃtalt] "shape, form") is a philosophy of mind of the Berlin School of experimental psychology. Gestalt psychology is an attempt to understand the laws behind the ability to acquire and maintain meaningful perceptions in an apparently chaotic world. The central principle of gestalt psychology is that the mind forms a global whole with self-organizing tendencies.

This principle maintains that when the human mind (perceptual system) forms a percept or "gestalt", the whole has a reality of its own, independent of the parts. The original famous phrase of Gestalt psychologist Kurt Koffka, "the whole is something else than the sum of its parts"[2] is often incorrectly translated[3] as "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts", and thus used when explaining gestalt theory, and further incorrectly applied to systems theory.[4] Koffka did not like the translation. He firmly corrected students who replaced "other" with "greater". "This is not a principle of addition" he said.[5] The whole has an independent existence.

In the study of perception, Gestalt psychologists stipulate that perceptions are the products of complex interactions among various stimuli. Contrary to the behaviorist approach to focusing on stimulus and response, gestalt psychologists sought to understand the organization of cognitive processes (Carlson and Heth, 2010). Our brain is capable of generating whole forms, particularly with respect to the visual recognition of global figures instead of just collections of simpler and unrelated elements (points, lines, curves, etc.).

In psychology, gestaltism is often opposed to structuralism. Gestalt theory, it is proposed, allows for the deconstruction of the whole situation into its elements.[6]

Thought Collective ex Wiki
A thought collective, a term originated in German as "Denkkollektiv" by the Polish and Israeli physician Ludwik Fleck, is a community of researchers who interact collectively towards the production or elaboration of knowledge using a shared framework of cultural customs and knowledge acquisition.[1] In his 1935 book Entstehung und Entwicklung einer wissenschaftlichen Tatsache; Einführung in die Lehre vom Denkstil und Denkkollektiv, Fleck identified the scientific production of knowledge as primarily a social process that hinges upon prior discoveries and practices in a way that constrains and preconditions new ideas and concepts. He termed this shared collection of preexisting knowledge a "Denkstil" or thought style and formulated a comparative epistemology of science using these two ideas.

Mob Psychology ex Wiki
Crowd psychology
, also known as mob psychology, is a branch of social psychology. Social psychologists have developed several theories for explaining the ways in which the psychology of a crowd differs from and interacts with that of the individuals within it. Major theorists in crowd psychology include Gustave Le Bon, Gabriel Tarde, Sigmund Freud, and Steve Reicher. This field relates to the behaviors and thought processes of both the individual crowd members and the crowd as an entity.[1] Crowd behavior is heavily influenced by the loss of responsibility of the individual and the impression of universality of behavior, both of which increase with crowd size.[2][3]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Dalrymple

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Dalrymple
writing has some sensible recurring themes.

  • The cause of much contemporary misery in Western countries – criminality, domestic violence, drug addiction, aggressive youths, hooliganism, broken families – is the nihilistic, decadent and/or self-destructive behaviour of people who do not know how to live. Both the smoothing over of this behaviour, and the medicalisation of the problems that emerge as a corollary of this behaviour, are forms of indifference. Someone has to tell those people, patiently and with understanding for the particulars of the case, that they have to live differently.[24]
  • Poverty does not explain aggressive, criminal and self-destructive behaviour. In an African slum you will find among the very poor, living in dreadful circumstances, dignity and decency in abundance, which are painfully lacking in an average English suburb, although its inhabitants are much wealthier.[25]
  • An attitude characterised by gratefulness and having obligations towards others has been replaced – with awful consequences – by an awareness of "rights" and a sense of entitlement, without responsibilities. This leads to resentment as the rights become violated by parents, authorities, bureaucracies and others in general.[26]
  • One of the things that make Islam attractive to young westernised Muslim men is the opportunity it gives them to dominate women.[27]
  • Technocratic or bureaucratic solutions to the problems of mankind produce disasters in cases where the nature of man is the root cause of those problems.
  • It is a myth, when going "cold turkey" from an opiate such as heroin, that the withdrawal symptoms are virtually unbearable; they are in fact hardly worse than flu.[28][29]
  • Criminality is much more often the cause of drug addiction than its consequence.
  • Sentimentality, which is becoming entrenched in British society, is "the progenitor, the godparent, the midwife of brutality".[30]
  • High culture and refined aesthetic tastes are worth defending, and despite the protestations of non-judgmentalists who say all expression is equal, they are superior to popular culture.[31][32][33]
  • The ideology of the Welfare State is used to diminish personal responsibility. Erosion of personal responsibility makes people dependent on institutions and favours the existence of a threatening and vulnerable underclass.
  • Moral relativism can easily be a trick of an egotistical mind to silence the voice of conscience.[34]
  • Multiculturalism and cultural relativism are at odds with common sense.[35]
  • The decline of civilised behaviour – self-restraint, modesty, zeal, humility, irony, detachment – ruins social and personal life.[36]
  • The root cause of our contemporary cultural poverty is intellectual dishonesty. First, the intellectuals (more specifically, left-wing ones) have destroyed the foundation of culture, and second, they refuse to acknowledge it by resorting to the caves of political correctness.[citation needed]

Psychological Expert Opinion Is Unreliable
Psychiatry Is A Boondoggle
. See the Rosenhan Experiment for serious proof. Now official evidence given in Parliament by John Hemming in his blog of Tuesday, 14 March 2012. The woman sourcing the report has some claim to being in the business.

Psychological expert opinion is unreliable in at least 65% of cases in three courts -

The link is to the detailed study on the University of Central Lancashire website.

It is important research because it looks at the details of the psychological reports in 126 out of 180 cases in three courts.

Obviously this does not read through to the national position precisely, but it gives a good guide.

Many of the things revealed about the reports would indicate that the expert involved would be struck off. 65% of the reports were "poor" or "very poor". This means really that they should not have been part of the trial.

It raises an automatic question as to the reliability of the judgment in 65% of cases. Actually the position is even worse as it appears that 90% of the reports are by people who make their living out of writing reports for the family courts rather than by people who practice psychology.

The inherent conflict of interest for people who need to keep getting instructions in the family court is something I have mentioned before, but is ignored by the judiciary.

What is unusual about this is that it is a report commissioned by "the system" and is a reliable dataset that gives a read through. It is not mere anecdote.

It does not surprise me that although the report was available for publication in September 2011 it was not published until February 2012. Clearly there are people who would have wished to bury the report without trace and keep it secret. Happily for people who wish the system to have integrity this has not happened.
