Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Cambridge

Proposition: Intellectuals are dangerous fools.
                    True or false?
I think it is true. I claim that it is true. Am I wrong? If you think so that is just fine; tell me why. NB Abuse is an admission that
you have nothing worth saying; that they are dangerous & fools too.

In 1555 AD the Oxford Martyrs were captured by some of England's leading intellectuals, men at the University of Oxford, devoting their lives to study. It was the Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Oxford in action. Three clerics, a brace of Anglican bishops Hugh Latimer, Nicholas Ridley plus Thomas Cranmer, the Archbishop of Canterbury were arrested, charged, tried, convicted, sentenced and  burnt at the stake. The charge was heresy. The guilty are now referred to as the Oxford Martyrs when they are remembered at all.

A few years earlier, in 1535 AD, William Tyndale was also burnt at the stake in the Low Countries but they were not so vicious; strangling him to death first was kinder. His sin was translating The Bible into English. Possessing one was punishable by death in England but not in foreign parts.

Now, in 2020 AD, over 400 years later more of our leading intellectuals have gone wrong too. They don't care about the Bible, they despise religion but they believe fairy stories about Global Warming and other ideas. Do they understand the science of global warming? Not if their chosen field was Mediaeval Latin or some such but they shout all the louder. It compensates for their ignorance.

They also claim that Blacks are our intellectual and moral equals. That is why they admitted a loud mouthed black into their number. She is #Sonita Alleyne, stupid, ugly and ignorant. She has never done any research or even taught but she was appointed Master of Jesus College by men who are vastly superior to her. The #Irish Savant explains his disgust. Is he wrong? Do you know better? Tell him, tell me - if you have reasons.

All of this is the reality of Mob Psychology, being used by the Puppet Masters to cause the Long March Through The Institutions, destroying civilization as they go. To be fair men at Oxford studying engineering or science are different, helping make the world a better place, learning useful things. They might even go on to prove it by starting firms producing things that people want. The humanities types are more likely to find themselves in the BBC, making careers by having the right opinions, inciting Homosexuality or Marxism. That is Mob Psychology or Herd Mentality. If that means protecting Paedophile Perverts like Rolf Harris or marketing Paedophile Propaganda so be it. The price makes it all worthwhile. The favoured few do very nicely. One who did well for herself was Jo Cox, a mouthy ratbag who worked in the Charity Industry, snivelled to the right people then became the MP for Rotherham. She didn't care two pence for the English girls being Raped wholesale by Pakistani Perverts. She was a Cultural Marxist, one of the Enemy Within until Tommy Mair sorted her out. He got life for his pains.

One who studied Herd Mentality was Theodor Adorno, a Jew who ran the Frankfurt School. It infiltrated the Education Industry in America in order to Subvert it. They succeeded brilliantly. The sanctimonious output of various universities is thoroughly Brainwashed; they really seem to believe that Blacks are victims of systematic Racism in Western Civilization, especially America.

If you think the country is not heavily infested with over-educated fools have a look at the Pretentious Drivel.

The Puppet Masters, the Zionist crazies are winning. Western Civilization is being destroyed.

England's Leading Intellectuals Betray England - The Irish Savant explains  [ 16 July 2020 ]
QUOTE
Late in life I came to realise the value of not sweating the small stuff. No point in getting into a state over trivial annoyances. Reinhold Niebuhr had an even more profound insight: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Genuinely, such an invocation does help you get through life in a less stressful way.

I try live by these precepts. But sometimes it ain't easy. Very many years ago I fell in love with Jesus College, Cambridge. The ambiance, the grounds, the stately buildings and echoing corridors. I'd love to have had an academic position there but despite having a PhD, a Post-Doctoral Fellowship and published a high-selling book in my field I wouldn't have had a chance. Only the best of the best of the best are awarded a tenured professorship at Cambridge. And that's after surviving the fabled back-stabbing of academic politics where lifelong friendships are transformed into lifelong enmities in the vicious squabble for spoils. Little wonder then that the dons, once ensconced, become bywords for arrogance and their fanatical defence of their academic independence.

You can imagine therefore what it takes to become the Master Of Jesus College Cambridge.

Unless you're #Sonita Alleyne who washed up in Britain from Barbados about 50 years ago. She  eventually got a pass BA - be assured it was not in astrophysics - after which she started a 'music publicity company'. And that's the extent of her achievements. But, as I've always said, if you're black, are not in jail and wear business clothes the world is your oyster. Alleyne's pass BA and involvement with a small publicity company propelled her to unimaginable heights with a Fellowship of the Royal Society Of Arts and appointments to, inter alia, the Court of Governors at London's University Of Arts and the BBC Trust (Governing Body). And now she's Master of Jesus College Cambridge. Never published an academic paper, undertaken a research project or even taught students. And she's now setting the academic direction for one of the world's most prestigious Colleges. Alumni such as  Thomas Cranmer [ burnt at the stake by Oxford hooligans ], Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Thomas Malthus must be spinning in their graves.

Now you'd imagine that having been parachuted in the most bizarre way into such a position Alleyne would keep her head down, cringing with embarrassment when chairing a meeting of intellectual powerhouses. Not a bit of it! Since her appointment she's spent her time haranguing academic staff and the general public on the terrible bigotry that blacks labour under. On June 5th she published a message on the College web site: Yup, you've guessed it. George Floyd. "If one man can't breathe none of us can breathe" (an assertion disprovable by a child) adding "Be angry at this moment". When someone pointed out that June 5 was also the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre Allenye was not pleased. According to The Spectator 'she has  forbidden the dons from speaking about the College's relationship with China' (my emphasis). Forbidden the dons! Oh deary deary me. I suppose only an affirmative action nonentity utterly tone deaf to university practices and traditions could come out with something like that...........

I marvel at the treachery of Britain's ruling class (I'm not referring just to the aristocracy here). They have sold out a glorious heritage, handing it over to unworthy and ungrateful foreigners who have no claim to it. Will some traveller in the distant future echo the words of Horace Smith as he surveys the impending wreckage?

What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place?

You can see what the Irish Savant is so very annoyed about. If you can't or won't, you are part of the problem. To be fair the other lot, the Oxford mob also have a track record of being dangerous fools led by Mob Psychology and cunning rogues. In 1555 AD they captured the Archbishop of Canterbury, tried him as a heretic then burnt him at the stake. The current bunch of Quasi-Intellectuals regard him essentially as a fool in a frock with a silly hat. See e.g. the Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Oxford

Alleyne looking stupid and ugly.
PS It seems that pretentious twerps at Jesus College admire  the Chinese Communist Party - see e.g. What is Dominic Raab not telling us about Hong Kong; it is a case in point.

BBC Markets Left Wing Propaganda Again   [ 24 July 2020 ]
QUOTE
Historians have criticised the BBC for an 'unbalanced' News At Ten report claiming Churchill was responsible for the 'mass killing' of up to three million people in the 1943 Bengal Famine. A section broadcast on Tuesday examined how modern Indians view the wartime prime minster as part of a series on Britain's colonial legacy, and featured a series of damning statements about his actions. Rudrangshu Mukherjee of Ashoka University in India, said Churchill was seen as a 'precipitator' of mass killing' due to his policies, while Oxford's Yasmin Khan claimed he could be guilty of 'prioritising white lives over Asian lives' by not sending relief.

But today historians said the report ignored the complexities behind the famine in favour of squarely blaming Churchill. World War Two expert James Holland argued he had tried to help but faced a lack of resources due to the war against Japan.

It comes amid a wider campaign to trash the war hero's legacy, with his statue defaced with the word 'racist' by Black Lives Matter protesters in London and civil servants calling for the Treasury's 'Churchill Room' to be renamed.

The Beeb is a Propaganda machine run by Marxists. The Black Lives Matter mob is run by Lenin's Useful Idiots, just like the twerps who run Jesus College. Details of their idiocy are at England's Leading Intellectuals Betray England. They have swallowed the White Guilt message and are proceeding to destroy Western Civilization for that reason.
PS Notice that the Mail could be guilty of 'prioritising a passing remark', by Khan taking it out of context in order to manufacture a story out of thin air. But they are right enough about BBC lies. NB The BBC is also in the business of inciting Paedophiles.

Sonita Alleyne, the Master of Jesus College, Cambridge, issued a passionate ‘personal message’ about the killing of George Floyd on her college’s website: ‘The message posted on the College Twitter account “If one man can’t breathe, we all can’t breathe” were my words,’ she revealed. ‘Be angry at this moment.’

Ms Alleyne’s message was published on 5 June — the day, in 1989, when the world watched the famous pictures of a young man confronting a line of tanks in Tiananmen Square. Soon 10,000 Chinese could not breathe, being dead. I have recently drawn attention to the adulatory approach of the college’s China Centre to the regime of the Chinese Communist party, which this year banned commemorations of the killings. Ms Alleyne comments readily on the events in Minneapolis, but has forbidden dons to speak to the press about her college’s relationship with China. Students at Cambridge University are calling for a 'transphobic' Labour politician to be suspended from his job as a porter at Clare College after he resigned from the council in protest over a motion in support of transgender rights.

Kevin Price, who is also employed by the ancient university, refused to support the Lib Dem motion which began with the sentences 'trans women are women', 'trans men are men' and 'non-binary individuals are non-binary'.

In his resignation speech, the former Labour deputy council leader said that the inclusion of those sentences would 'send a chill down the spines' of 'many women'.

He added that it is 'foolish to pretend' there are not widely different views or concerns about women's rights, saying that there are women who 'fear' that 'they are unable to raise legitimate questions and concerns without a hostile response'.

Mr Price also criticised the public information pack supporting the motion, saying it 'unbelievably' encourages the council to use its own communication channels to 'counter transphobic reporting in the national media'.

'Coverage of government consultations, responses and issues around potential legislation is not transphobic but the role of journalism,' he commented.

The motion pushed for the council to commit to 'flying the trans flag on international trans day of visibility and international trans day of remembrance', 'stating publicly that trans rights are human rights', 'rais[ing] awareness of the community grants fund amongst LGBTQIA+ groups' and 'facilitating and strongly encouraging all Councillors to attend Safer Spaces training'.

Following Mr Price's resignation, the Union of Clare Students (UCS) at Cambridge University denounced the Labour politician and called for either his suspension or his resignation as college porter.

Sonita Alleyne ex Wiki
Sonita Alleyne, OBE, FRSA (born 1968) is the Barbados-born British co-founder and former CEO of Somethin’ Else, a cross-platform media production company. Alleyne is a member of the BBC Trust, the governing body of the British Broadcasting Corporation, and Master of Jesus College

Biography and career
Alleyne was born in Bridgetown, Barbados. At the age of three she moved to Walthamstow with her parents and later attended the nearby Leyton Manor School and Leyton Senior High School.[1] She graduated from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge (1985–88) with a BA in Philosophy[2][3] and began working as a financial adviser for Royal Life. A year later she joined Jazz FM's publicity department and, in her two years at the station, proceeded to become a trainee producer.[4]

In 1991, Alleyne set up Somethin' Else, a music publicity business (named after the jazz album by Cannonball Adderley), with former colleagues Jez Nelson and Chris Philips. The company produced original content for the BBC and commercial radio. As CEO, Alleyne led many projects herself, including the development of Radio Music Shop, the world's first retail radio station.[citation needed] By 2008, Somethin’ Else was, according to The Independent, ‘the biggest syndicator of radio programmes in the UK, outside of the BBC, distributing shows to more than 200 radio stations in 65 countries’.[5]

In October 2009, Alleyne stepped down as Chief Executive and took on the role of Non-Executive Director. Fellow co-founder Jez Nelson succeeded her as CEO.[6]

Starting in 2008, Alleyne has chaired both the national arts charity Sound and Music[7] and the Radio Sector Skills Council.[8] She is also a member of the Court of Governors at the University of the Arts London and a trustee of the Islington Arts and Media Trust.[9] She sits on the UK Culture Committee for UNESCO and contributes to the Government Department of Work and Pensions as a member of the London Skills and Employment Board and the National Employment Panel.[10] She has been a judge for the Precious Awards, which celebrate the entrepreneurial achievements of black women,[11] and the Sony Awards.[12]

In February 2012, she was named the non executive director of Archant, a media group.[13] In July 2012 the Government announced that Alleyne would join the BBC Trust, the governing body of the Corporation.[14]

Alleyne has been a board member of the London Legacy Development Corporation since April 2012.[15] In 2019 she was appointed Chair of the British Board of Film Classification.[16]

In May 2019, she was elected Master of Jesus College, Cambridge, a role which she took up in October 2019.[17] She is the first woman to hold the role, 40 years after the college began admitting women as students.[18] October 2019 also saw Alleyne's influence recognised, with her inclusion in the 2020 Powerlist, an annual publication listing the 100 most influential Black Britons. [19]

Awards and recognition
In 2000, Alleyne received the Award of Excellence from the European Federation of Black Women Business Owners.[20] In 2002, she won the Carlton Multicultural Achievement Award for TV and Radio.[20] She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and the Radio Academy.[20] In 2004, she was awarded the OBE for services to broadcasting.[13]

Oxford Martyrs ex Wiki
The Oxford Martyrs were Protestants tried for heresy in 1555 and burnt at the stake in Oxford, England, for their religious beliefs and teachings, during the Marian persecution in England.

The three martyrs were the Anglican bishops Hugh Latimer, Nicholas Ridley and Thomas Cranmer, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

History
The three were tried at University Church of St Mary the Virgin, the official church of the University of Oxford on the High Street. The men were imprisoned at the former Bocardo Prison near the extant St Michael at the Northgate church (at the north gate of the city walls) in Cornmarket Street. The door of their cell is on display in the tower of the church.

The men were burnt at the stake just outside the city walls to the north, where Broad Street is now located. Latimer and Ridley were burnt on 16 October 1555. Cranmer was burnt five months later on 21 March 1556.

A small area paved with granite setts forming a cross in the centre of the road outside the front of Balliol College marks the site. The Victorian spire-like Martyrs' Memorial, at the south end of St Giles' nearby, commemorates the events. It is claimed, notably in the early part of the novel 'The Negotiator' by Frederick Forsyth, that the scorch marks from the flames can still be seen on the doors of Balliol College (now rehung between the Front Quadrangle and Garden Quadrangle).

University of Oxford ex Wiki
The University of Oxford (legally The Chancellor Masters and Scholars of the University of Oxford) is a collegiate research university in Oxford, England. There is evidence of teaching as early as 1096,[2] making it the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world's second-oldest university in continuous operation.[2][10] It grew rapidly from 1167 when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris.[2] After disputes between students and Oxford townsfolk in 1209, some academics fled north-east to Cambridge where they established what became the University of Cambridge.[11] The two "ancient universities" are frequently jointly called "Oxbridge". The history and influence of the University of Oxford have made it one of the most prestigious universities in the world.[12][13]

The university is made up of 39 constituent colleges, six permanent private halls, and a range of academic departments which are organised into four divisions.[14] All the colleges are self-governing institutions within the university, each controlling its own membership and with its own internal structure and activities.[15] It does not have a main campus, and its buildings and facilities are scattered throughout the city centre. Undergraduate teaching at Oxford is organised around weekly tutorials at the colleges and halls, supported by classes, lectures, seminars, and laboratory work provided by university faculties and departments; some postgraduate teaching, and occasionally undergraduate teaching, includes tutorials organised by faculties and departments. It operates the world's oldest university museum, as well as the largest university press in the world[16] and the largest academic library system nationwide.[17]

In the fiscal year ending 31 July 2019, the university had a total income of £2.45 billion, of which £624.8 million was from research grants and contracts.[3] The university is ranked among the best higher learning institutions by most international and major national league tables.[18][19][20]

Oxford has educated a wide range of notable alumni, including 28 prime ministers of the United Kingdom and many heads of state and government around the world.[21] As of November 2019, 72 Nobel Prize laureates, 3 Fields Medalists, and 6 Turing Award winners have studied, worked, or held visiting fellowships at the University of Oxford, while its alumni have won 160 Olympic medals.[22] Oxford is the home of numerous scholarships, including the Rhodes Scholarship, one of the oldest international graduate scholarship programmes.

William Tyndale ex Wiki
William Tyndale (/ˈtɪndəl/;[1] sometimes spelled Tynsdale, Tindall, Tindill, Tyndall; c. 1494c. 6 October 1536) was an English scholar who became a leading figure in the Protestant Reformation in the years leading up to his execution. He is well known for his (incomplete) translation of the Bible into English, influenced by the work of Erasmus of Rotterdam and of Martin Luther.[2]

A number of partial English translations had been made from the seventh century onward, but the religious ferment caused by Wycliffe's Bible in the late 14th century led to the death penalty for anyone found in unlicensed possession of Scripture in English, although translations were available in all other major European languages.[3]

Tyndale worked during a Renaissance of scholarship, which saw the publication of Reuchlin's Hebrew grammar 1506. Greek was available to the European scholarly community for the first time in centuries, as it welcomed Greek-speaking intellectuals and texts following the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Notably, Erasmus compiled, edited, and published the Greek Scriptures in 1516. Luther's German Bible appeared in 1522.

Tyndale's translation was the first English Bible to draw directly from Hebrew and Greek texts, the first English translation to take advantage of the printing press, the first of the new English Bibles of the Reformation, and the first English translation to use Jehovah ("Iehouah") as God's name as preferred by English Protestant Reformers.[a] It was taken to be a direct challenge to the hegemony of both the Catholic Church and the laws of England maintaining the church's position.

A copy of Tyndale's The Obedience of a Christian Man (1528), which argued that the king of a country should be the head of that country's church rather than the pope, fell into the hands of the English king Henry VIII, providing a rationale to break the Church in England from the Catholic Church in 1534.[4][5] Before this, in 1530, Tyndale wrote The Practyse of Prelates, opposing Henry's annulment of his own marriage on the grounds that it contravened Scripture.[6]

Fleeing England, Tyndale sought refuge in the Flemish territory of the Catholic Emperor Charles V. In 1535, Tyndale was arrested and jailed in the castle of Vilvoorde (Filford) outside Brussels for over a year. In 1536, he was convicted of heresy and executed by strangulation, after which his body was burnt at the stake. His dying prayer was that the King of England's eyes would be opened; this seemed to find its fulfillment just one year later with Henry's authorisation of the Matthew Bible, which was largely Tyndale's own work, with missing sections translated by John Rogers and Miles Coverdale.

Tyndale's translation of the Bible was plagarized for subsequent English translations, including the Great Bible and the Bishop's Bible, authorised by the church of England. In 1611, the 47 scholars who produced the King James Bible[7] drew significantly from Tyndale's original work and the other translations that descended from his.[8] One estimate suggests that the New Testament in the King James Version is 83% Tyndale's words, and the Old Testament 76%.[9][10] Hence, the work of Tyndale continued to play a key role in spreading Reformation ideas across the English-speaking world, and eventually across the British Empire. In 2002, Tyndale was placed 26th in the BBC's poll of the 100 Greatest Britons.[11][12]

Mob Psychology ex Wiki
Crowd psychology, also known as mob psychology, is a branch of social psychology. Social psychologists have developed several theories for explaining the ways in which the psychology of a crowd differs from and interacts with that of the individuals within it. Major theorists in crowd psychology include Gustave Le Bon, Gabriel Tarde, Sigmund Freud, and Steve Reicher. This field relates to the behaviors and thought processes of both the individual crowd members and the crowd as an entity.[1] Crowd behavior is heavily influenced by the loss of responsibility of the individual and the impression of universality of behavior, both of which increase with crowd size.[2][3]

Origins
The psychological study of crowd phenomena was documented decades prior to 1900, as European culture was imbued with thoughts of the fin de siècle. This "modern" urban culture perceived that they were living in a new and different age. They witnessed marvelous new inventions and experienced life in new ways. The population, now living in densely packed, industrialized cities, such as Milan and Paris, witnessed the development of the light bulb, radio, photography, moving-picture shows, the telegraph, the bicycle, the telephone, and the railroad system. They experienced a faster pace of life and viewed human life as segmented, so they designated each of these phases of life with a new name. They created new concepts like "the adolescent", "kindergarten", "the vacation", "camping in nature", "the 5-minute segment", and "travel for the sake of pleasure" as a leisure class to describe these new ways of life..............

The first debate in crowd psychology began in Rome at the first International Congress of Criminal Anthropology on 16 November 1885. The meeting was dominated by Cesare Lombroso and his fellow Italians, who emphasized the biological determinates..............

Literature on crowds and crowd behavior appeared as early as 1841, with the publication of Charles Mackay's book Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds.[8] [ Rather good - Editor ]. The attitude towards crowds underwent an adjustment with the publication of Hippolyte Taine's six-volume The Origins of Contemporary France (1875). In particular Taine's work helped to change the opinions of his contemporaries on the actions taken by the crowds during the 1789 Revolution.

Sigmund Freud's crowd behavior theory primarily consists of the idea that becoming a member of a crowd serves to unlock the unconscious mind. This occurs because the super-ego, or moral center of consciousness, is displaced by the larger crowd, to be replaced by a charismatic crowd leader. McDougall argues similarly to Freud, saying that simplistic emotions are widespread, and complex emotions are rarer. In a crowd, the overall shared emotional experience reverts to the least common denominator (LCD), leading to primitive levels of emotional expression.[1] This organizational structure is that of the "primal horde" – pre-civilized society - and Freud states that one must rebel against the leader (re-instate the individual morality) in order to escape from it.[1] Moscovici expanded on this idea, discussing how dictators such as Mao Zedong and Joseph Stalin have used mass psychology to place themselves in this "horde leader" position.[10]

Theodor Adorno criticized the belief in a spontaneity of the masses: according to him, the masses were an artificial product of "administrated" modern life. The Ego of the bourgeois subject dissolved itself, giving way to the Id and the "de-psychologized" subject. Furthermore, Adorno stated the bond linking the masses to the leader through the spectacle is feigned:

"When the leaders become conscious of mass psychology and take it into their own hands, it ceases to exist in a certain sense. ... Just as little as people believe in the depth of their hearts that the Jews are the devil, do they completely believe in their leader. They do not really identify themselves with him but act this identification, perform their own enthusiasm, and thus participate in their leader's performance. ... It is probably the suspicion of this fictitiousness of their own 'group psychology' which makes fascist crowds so merciless and unapproachable. If they would stop to reason for a second, the whole performance would go to pieces, and they would be left to panic."[15]

Herd Mentality ex Wiki
Herd mentality, mob mentality and pack mentality, also lesser known as gang mentality, describes how people can be influenced by their peers to adopt certain behaviors on a largely emotional, rather than rational, basis. When individuals are affected by mob mentality, they may make different decisions than they would have individually.

Social psychologists study the related topics of group intelligence, crowd wisdom, groupthink, deindividuation, and decentralized decision making.

History
The idea of a "group mind" or "mob behavior" was first put forward by 19th-century French social psychologists Gabriel Tarde and Gustave Le Bon. Herd behavior in human societies has also been studied by Sigmund Freud and Wilfred Trotter, whose book Instincts of the Herd in Peace and War is a classic in the field of social psychology. Sociologist and economist Thorstein Veblen's The Theory of the Leisure Class illustrates how individuals imitate other group members of higher social status in their consumer behavior. More recently, Malcolm Gladwell in The Tipping Point, examines how cultural, social, and economic factors converge to create trends in consumer behavior. In 2004, the New Yorker's financial columnist James Suroweicki published The Wisdom of Crowds.

Twenty-first-century academic fields such as marketing and behavioral finance attempt to identify and predict the rational and irrational behavior of investors. (See the work of Daniel Kahneman [ See Thinking Fast and Slow - Ed. ], Robert Shiller, Vernon L. Smith, and Amos Tversky.) Driven by emotional reactions such as greed and fear, investors can be seen to join in frantic purchasing and sales of stocks, creating bubbles and crashes. As a result, herd behavior is closely studied by behavioral finance experts in order to help predict future economic crises.[1]

What is Dominic Raab not telling us about Hong Kong
The government’s promised ‘pathway to citizenship’ to Hong Kong people is wonderful [ sic - for whom and why? You just think it is a blatant act of Treason - Editor ], but has the Foreign Office arranged a get-out clause? Last week, Dominic Raab told parliament that ‘if China enacts the [proposed new security] law, we will change the arrangements for British National (Overseas) passport holders in Hong Kong’. He added, however, that ‘We do not oppose Hong Kong passing its own national security law’. Behind this lies the fact that the Basic Law of Hong Kong, arising from the Sino-British Agreement of 1984, prescribes that Hong Kong ‘shall enact its own laws to prohibit any act of treason, secession, sedition or subversion against the Central People’s Government’. So far, it has not done so. Hence Beijing’s recent threat. But if, thus threatened, the Hong Kong Legislative Council (LegCo) does pass the security law demanded, the outward form will have been observed and Beijing’s wish will have become Hong Kong’s ‘own laws’. Then Britain’s promise of citizenship would appear to be void. Since only half the seats in LegCo are directly elected, Beijing-backers will surely maintain control even if the democrats triumph in September’s elections. Is this what Mr Raab is not quite telling us?

Sonita Alleyne, the Master of Jesus College, Cambridge, issued a passionate ‘personal message’ about the killing of George Floyd on her college’s website: ‘The message posted on the College Twitter account “If one man can’t breathe, we all can’t breathe” were my words,’ she revealed. ‘Be angry at this moment.’ Ms Alleyne’s message was published on 5 June — the day, in 1989, when the world watched the famous pictures of a young man confronting a line of tanks in Tiananmen Square.

On Tuesday morning, I was invited on the Today programme to debate with Lionel Barber, ex-editor of the Financial Times, the strange story of the New York Times and the Republican Senator Tom Cotton. Headlined ‘Send in the Troops’, Senator Cotton’s piece supported President Trump’s threat to restore order in American cities. So great were the protests from staff and readers that the publisher and editor decided it should not have been published. The op-ed page editor resigned. The BBC’s phone connection started garbling, so I never said an audible word. But before it disappeared altogether, I did hear Lionel talking about the ‘failure of process’ which led to publishing. There probably were such failures, perhaps made forgivable by the physical problems of lockdown (which also caused failure of process on Today). But that is an evasion. The real reason for the rumpus was that the paper had run a controversial opinion piece by a Trump supporter. Most editors dread articles by politicians because they can be so dull; but a broadsheet should run them when they represent an important view at an important time, including one opposed to the paper’s. Mr Cotton, a prominent Senator with a military background, fitted that bill. The paper’s internal conflict was interestingly expressed in tweets by Bari Weiss, a New York Times writer. She splits the paper between the ‘(mostly young) wokes; and the (mostly 40+) liberals’. The latter made the mistake, she says, of thinking the young they had appointed shared their ‘civil libertarianism’. They don’t. The ‘New Guard’ believe in what they call ‘“safetyism”, in which the right of people to feel emotionally and psychologically safe trumps what were previously considered core liberal values, like free speech’. A Committee of Public Safety! That spells death to journalism.

On 18 June (which, we must overlook, is Waterloo Day), President Emmanuel Macron will visit London to celebrate the 80th anniversary of General de Gaulle’s famous ‘Appel’ to the French people made, thanks to Winston Churchill, via the BBC (‘France is not alone! She is not alone!’). He will meet the Prince of Wales and the Prime Minister, and present London with the Legion d’Honneur for its wartime role helping the Free French. I gather there is hesitation in Downing Street about Boris Johnson joining the President at Churchill’s statue in Parliament Square. This seems a mistake: it would be a good way of re-honouring the war leader after some Black Lives Matter protestors insulted him. It would also be good for the Mayor, Sadiq Khan, who may receive the decoration on behalf of his city, to be reminded of a statue that matters.

Taro Aso, finance minister and former prime minister of Japan, attributes his country’s low Covid-19 mortality rate (900 deaths in a population of 126 million) to its social manners (‘mindo’). A controversial remark, apparently, but it feels right. With a disease often carried by touch, those who bow rather than shake hands and discipline their social contact are at a great advantage. I once met Mr Aso on the grouse moor of Henry Keswick, the great China merchant. His own manners in this unlikely setting were charming — orientally courtly, but with a twinkle in his eye. He had never shot grouse before, but had been in the Japanese Olympic skeet shooting team. Although wearing a dark office suit instead of tweed, Mr Aso stood in his butt with modest confidence. He shot every grouse that approached, and a hare. There were five drives in the day but, when invited to continue after the first, he said: ‘No thank you. Too cold. Back to house.’

Until the lockdown, I rarely read sports pages. Now I play a ‘Spot the Ball’ competition in them every day: are there any balls to spot? Naturally, the picture supply has diminished. Some days, there are no pictures of a ball. It is like war reporting without pictures of guns.

Jesus College Panders To Black 'Victims' Again  [ 10 November 2020 ]
QUOTE
One of the University of Cambridge's richest colleges is removing the memorial to a 17th benefactor who was involved with the slave trade.

Jesus College, which is worth £344 million, is taking the memorial to Tobias Rustat out of its chapel because it is 'celebratory'. Rustat, an advisor to King Charles II, was one of Jesus' biggest benefactors.

In the 17th-Century he gave the college vast sums of money, and also helped the university buy the first books for its library. However he was a major investor in slave-trading enterprise the Royal African Company. The memorial is being removed days after it emerged that a separate statue of Rustat at the university could also be taken down.

Ugly Third World Racist Alien Compares Black Author To Joseph Goebbels  [ 4 April 2021 ]
QUOTE
Infamous Cambridge University professor Priyamvada Gopal has compared the black author of a report on race relations in Britain to Nazi party propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

Gopal, who serves as a professor of postcolonial studies at the university, questioned the credentials of Dr Tony Sewell, one of the lead authors of the 264-page Downing Street report that concluded there is no “institutional racism” in the United Kingdom, asking: “Am I correct in thinking that it’s not, in fact, ‘Dr’ Tony Sewell? I mean, if we are doing to pander to the establishment, then surely the establishment’s rules matter.”

Upon learning that the Jamaican heritage chairman of the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities is in fact a doctor, receiving a PhD from Nottingham University, the woke professor added: “Fair enough. Even Dr Goebbels had a research PhD.”............

Gopal has previously come under fire for her controversial remarks on race, writing in June of last year, for example: “I’ll say it again. White Lives Don't Matter. As White Lives.”.........

The Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities report, which found that there is no “institutional racism” in Britain and that poor white working-class people trail behind many other ethnic groups in the country, has sparked a furious backlash from the left-wing establishment.

The twerps in Jesus College appointed Sonita Alleyne, a loud mouthed black ignoramus as their Master. Perhaps Gopal is aiming to be the Master or Mistress of Churchill College.

Lunatic Fringe At Cambridge Blocked    [ 22 June 2021 ]
QUOTE
A controversial group which was set up at a Cambridge college to examine the links between Winston Churchill, race and the empire, has been scrapped. The team of academics and students at Churchill College decided to disband the group after heavy pressure to cancel a series of its events, it is understood.

The Working Group, which had been organised in the wake of George Floyd's murder [ Suicide by fentanyl poisoning in fact - Editor ] in May last year, was to examine the former Prime Minister's views on race - but was accused by critics of being stacked with left-wing academics  intent on smearing the World War Two Prime Minister.

It held an event called ‘The Racial Consequences of Churchill’, during which a panellist said wartime leader Sir Winston was the ‘perfect embodiment’ of ‘white supremacist philosophy’. The event also included claims that the British Empire was ‘far worse than the Nazis’.

Is ‘respect’ a right or a woke joke? Crick goes to Cambridge to tackle a VERY toxic free speech row

Cambridge academics are embroiled in a fierce debate over freedom of speech which could threaten jobs if a university vote goes the wrong way. But is this just another assault by the 'woke'-brigade? St John’s College at Cambridge University will break a 350-year-old tradition by allowing girls and women to become choristers for the first time. Girls and women will be allowed to join the historically all-male group at St John’s College choir that was set up in 1670 from next year.

Andrew Nethsingha has directed the choir for 14 years and is a former organ scholar at St John’s.

The College said he had 'spearheaded' the move, strengthening his 'reputation for encouraging young singers'. It added he was known for 'championing contemporary music and commissioning new work from established and emerging composers'.

Mr Nethsingha said it was a 'great and historic day' for the choir.

He said: 'I hope this small step will bring the day closer when there is gender equality amongst composers, organists and conductors, as well as among politicians, business leaders and in all other walks of life.

Cambridge College To Return Looted Cockerel Statue To [ Nigeria ]  [ 16 October 2021 ]
QUOTE
A Cambridge college is to return a looted bronze cockerel statue to representatives from Nigeria in a ceremony this month.

Jesus College set up its Legacy of Slavery Working Party in 2019 to explore the 'historical, legal and moral status of the college's ownership of the Bronze'. It followed a campaign by students for the item's return. The group concluded that the statue, which was [ allegedly ] looted by British colonial forces in 1897 and given to the college in 1905 by the father of a student, 'belongs with the current Oba at the Court of Benin'. The Oba of Benin is head of the historic Eweka dynasty of the Benin Empire, centred on Benin City in modern-day Nigeria.

Jesus College said in a statement that it 'became the first institution in the world to announce its decision to return a Benin Bronze' in 2019. The statue had been removed from display at the college in 2016. It will be returned to Nigeria's National Commission for Museums and Monuments in a ceremony at Jesus College, attended by delegates from the commission and Benin, on October 27.

Quasi-Intellectual Fools Destroying Cambridge Heritage  [ 25 January 2022 ]
QUOTE
QUOTE
An ecclesiastical court will hear a dispute next month over whether a memorial to a 17th century benefactor who invested in slave-trading companies can be moved from the chapel of a Cambridge University college.

Tobias Rustat, who was a major investor in the Royal African Company and had been a servant to King Charles II, became one of Jesus College's largest benefactors before the 20th century. The college, which is worth £344million, last year submitted an application to the Diocese of Ely to relocate a memorial to Rustat from its chapel to a permanent exhibition [ and hidden? ] space in the college.

A consistory court case, starting on February 2, is due to help decide the fate of the monument to Rustat who donated £2,000, the equivalent to £450,000 today, to fund scholarships for the children of Anglican priests.

Prominent historical figures with alleged slavery links were re-examined after the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 which saw the toppling of a statue of slave trader Edward Colston in Bristol - a contemporary of Rustat...............

Following recommendations made by the College's Legacy of Slavery Working Party in 2019 and 2020, the college took the view that the memorial represents a celebration of Rustat which is 'incompatible with the chapel as an inclusive community and a place of collective wellbeing'.

The Master of Jesus College, Sonita Alleyne, said that the college's proposal to relocate the monument to an educational exhibition space was 'part of a process of critical self-reflection on the long-term legacies of enslavement and colonial violence'.............

A number of college alumni have objected to the proposal to move the memorial...............

'The memorial is an obstacle to some members of our community participating in all these college events.'

In February last year, the descendants of Rustat criticised the plans to move the memorial. Stephen Hemsted and his three brothers, Rustat's tenth great nephews, lodged a complaint with the college and argued that the Royal African Company was not the source of money he gave to the institution.

The family told The Times  that they regarded Rustat as a 'distinguished ancestor' and added there was 'no justification' for removing the memorial.

Mr Hemsted said of Rustat: 'It's clear that the bulk of his wealth came from things [that were] nothing to do with slavery, so the money that was given to Jesus College clearly has nothing to do with slavery.'...........

Mr Hemsted had proposed to Ms Alleyne that a notice be put in the chapel explaining both Rustat's generous donations and his links to the slaving company.

He said the college's plan was to remove the memorial entirely and instead have a plaque at the entrance warning people they were stepping into 'a place where Tobias Rustat had put money'.

The starting point for this storm in a teacup is the appointment of Sonita Alleyne as the Master of  Jesus College. She was elected in spite of being ugly, stupid, never having taught or researched. But she is black and gobby so her face fits. The Quasi-Intellectuals who voted for her have lifetimes of study behind them; they are twerps all the more for that. You might recall that the Learned Elders Of Oxford chose to send the Archbishop of Canterbury to be  burnt at the stake as a heretic. This lot would too if they could get away with it.
PS the only sensible comment of the four so far comes from Akali Singh, an alien infiltrator. He mentions William Ellison, a  black who owned 63 slaves in Carolina. Who took the slaves in the first place? Blacks, often Hausa or Yoruba were slave traders. Slavery in Africa mentions Bono State, Ashanti & Yoruba of Nigeria as well as the Imbangala of Angola and the Nyamwezi of Tanzania. Does little Miss Alleyne know? More to the point does she care?

A short bicycle ride from the River Cam, where tourists go punting and generations of bleary-eyed students have leapt from bridges to celebrate the end of exams, is the ancient chapel of Jesus College. Dating back to 1157, and famed for candlelit evensongs and an internationally respected choir, its well-worn pews have, over the years, cradled the backsides of such notable alumni as Samuel Taylor Coleridge, the Romantic poet, and a young Prince Edward..............

Lost amid such splendour is a white marble plaque affixed to the wall of the west nave. Upon close inspection, it bears a portrait of Tobias Rustat, a bewigged 17th-century philanthropist and courtier to Charles II, who gave generously to Jesus College and was duly buried beneath the chapel following his death in 1694.

Until recently, this large but understated monument — the work of master sculptor Grinling Gibbons which celebrates its subject’s ‘faithfulness’ and ‘workes of charity’ — has tended to pass most visitors by................

On Wednesday, the Diocese of Ely will commandeer Tobias Rustat’s last resting place to stage a high-profile and bitterly contested court hearing to determine whether the College patron — who, in 1671, gave it £2,000 (some £500,000 today) to fund scholarships for the orphan children of Anglican clergyman — should, as the modern saying goes, be ‘cancelled’.

Scheduled to last at least three days, it will be heard in the chapel by His Honour Judge David Hodge QC, and revolves around an application by Jesus for the ‘Rustat Memorial’ to be removed from its lofty perch on the walls of the Grade I-listed building — and placed instead in a nearby basement that had been used as a wine cellar................

The whole thing also represents a test case for the Church of England, which last May instructed the nation’s 12,500 parishes and 42 cathedrals to consider the removal, relocation or alteration of plaques or monuments connected to the slave trade. Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby supports such gestures, saying that ‘some [monuments] will have to come down, some names will have to change’............

In recent years, the College has pursued an alarmingly close commercial relationship with the autocratic Chinese Communist Party, which stands accused of presiding over the enslavement and genocide of hundreds of thousands of Uighur Muslims, not to mention the ongoing repression of millions of its own citizens.

Why have the Learned Elders of Cambridge gone wrong? They are Quasi-Intellectuals afflicted with Pathological Altruism. Cambridge Professor Abused By Anti-White Twerps  [ 9 August 2022 ]

A Cambridge University professor 'bullied and harassed a junior female colleague and told her to "sit down woman" and "shut up" in a row over a report into Gonville and Caius College's links to slavery'. [ Legacies of Slavery and Coerced Labour report Gonville & Caius ]

Joe Herbert, 86, is accused of engaging in 'unwanted behaviour in the form of bullying and harassment related to the protected characteristic of sex' by junior colleague Bronwen Everill over discussions that took place over the report............

It came after a witness said Herbert, professor of neuroscience. had behaved in a sexist way towards Ms Everill - who was in charge of overseeing the slavery report. Following the remarks during the meeting, Herbert sent her a series of emails, stating: 'You are clearly avoiding any rational discussion and one can only draw an obvious conclusion from that.' Another added: 'I told you to shut up because you were shrieking at me.

This is a storm in a teacup but the attitudes behind it are not. The reality is that educated people, who should be highly intelligent could not or would not act like civilized human beings. This Everill woman has swallowed the Hard Left propaganda line that the White Man is responsible for all evil & that Blacks are just victims. It is Mob Psychology in action, another example of the Protocols Of The Learned Elders of Cambridge. Does Everill know or even care that The Royal Navy was in the front line against slavery or that Slavery was outlawed in Parliament in 1807 at the behest of William Wilberforce, another self-righteous canting rogue? I doubt it.

Black Professor Is Semi-Literate  [ 21 October 2023 ]
QUOTE
Jason Arday, a sociologist, didn’t speak until he was eleven and was illiterate until he was eighteen. He has still not attained full literacy. Summarising one of his articles, he wrote: “This paper employs a Critical Race Theory (CRT) a storytelling method, which operates as a counter-narrative in attempting to conceptualise my own professional experiences of negotiating normative Whiteness, diversifying Eurocentric curricula and conceptualising the racial mirco-aggression”. The first few words contain one mistake of grammar and two of punctuation. The sentence makes no sense. How can a theory attempt to conceptualise a person’s experience of conceptualising something? What is “the racial mirco-aggression”? Arday claims that his life was profoundly affected by the news that Nelson Mandela had been released from prison, which happened when he was four. Intellectuals Are Slobs
That is not quite the point of this article; it leads into a review of a book by a rather sound sort of chap. None the less the point is well made and well sourced.

Edmund Connelly
QUOTE
In 1989, prolific British [ English in fact ] writer Paul Johnson published Intellectuals offering case studies of a string of intellectuals, beginning with Jean-Jacques Rousseau and then Shelley, Marx, Ibsen, Tolstoy, Hemingway,  Bertold Brecht [ swine extraordinaire ], Bertrand Russell, Sartre, right on down to more modern public thinkers. Johnson’s point is that however much these men (and Lillian Hellman) might have professed love of “humanity” and “progress,” they were rats to the actual people around them.

For example, Johnson wrote of the poet Shelley:

Any moth than came near his fierce flame was  singed. His first wife, Harriet, and his mistress, Fay Godwin, both committed suicide when he deserted them. In his letters he denounced their actions roundly for causing him distress and inconvenience. . . .  His children by Harriet were made wards of the court. He erased them completely from his mind, and they never received  a  single word from their father. Another child, a bastard, died in  a  Naples foundling hospital where he had abandoned her.

Of Karl Marx, the self-professed savior of the working man, Johnson wrote: He seduced his wife’s servant, begot a son by her [ Confirmed at Citizendium ], then forced Friedrich Engels to assume paternity. Marx’s daughter Eleanor once let out a cri de coeur in a letter: “Is it not wonderful, when you come to look things squarely in the face, how rarely we  seem to practice all the fine things we  preach—to others?” She later committed suicide.

Johnson concluded that we must “Beware intellectuals.” “Not only should they be kept well away from the levers of power, they should also be objects of particular suspicion when they seek to offer collective advice.”
